Wellwitcha
This may look like a dead plant, but far from it. Welwitschia (the spelling Wikipedia assigns) is endemic to the Namib Desert of Namibia and Angola; it has only two actual leaves, and that same Wikipedia entry says any given plant can live for more than 1000 years. That’s not a typo! The Jomar card is not postally used and has a short message inked on the reverse. Grade: 3

Pungo-ua-Ndongo
We like to double-check, so we did the search, and found that Wikipedia refers to this as Pungo Andongo, which refers to the stones, to a city, and to a fortress. This old Jomar card, like others we have, was not postally used but has messages on the reverse, and an abrasion. Grade: 4.

Malange, Quedas de Kalandula
Wikipedia advises that “Kalandula Falls are waterfalls in the municipality of Kalandula, Malanje Province, Angola. On the Lucala River, the falls are 105 meters high and 400 meters wide. They are one of the largest waterfalls by volume in Africa.” You might have known this already, but we’re always learning. Nowhere on this postally unused card does it show the name of the hotel, but quick searching (there aren’t that many options in Luanda) showed that this is Hotel Continental, whose online reviews are “OK” but we’ll never know first-hand.
