Online sources will tell you more about Sun Wei, whose other name was Sun Yu. He was from Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, a painter in the reign of Emperor Xizong (874-888) of the Tang dynasty. He followed Emperor Xizong to Sichuan to escape from the turmoil of the war and lived in Chengdu. He excelled at depicting characters, pines and rocks, bamboos in ink, and especially, landscapes.
