1956 postcards of China (set of 12)
Twelve unused, coloured postcards are wrapped in a torn and somewhat flimsy paper cover as you see, with the pencilled notation on the front. The Chinese-language caption on the reverse of the cover suggests that 70,000 of these sets were produced in 1956. Each card has an identifying caption also, but only in Chinese, mostly rural images of scenery, temples, and the like. The cards are OK; it’s only the paper cover (called “West Lake”) that shows wear. Grade: 3
