From no later than 1956, the card was not postally used but has message and address on the back.  As for the hotel, like many of our hotel postcards, this shows the property in its heyday.  Online reviews now are middling, with a recent one saying “still surviving,” but we’ve no doubt it has its attractions.  Grade: 4
