Strusshamn, Hauge Memorial
Hans Nielsen Hauge (1771 – 1824) was a Norwegian Lutheran lay minister, spiritual leader, business entrepreneur, social reformer and author. He led a noted Pietism revival known as the Haugean movement and is also considered to have been influential in the early industrialization of Norway. Not certain of his particular connection to Strusshamn unless, as the plaque suggests, he built a mill there in 1804. Unused card. Grade: 1
