The caption on this unused H.S. Crocker card DS-531 more accurately describes this as “Louisiana Memorial and Great Redoubt, Vicksburg National Military Park,” marking the site of the largest fort on the Confederate line and the farthest point of the unsuccessful advance of the Union assault of May 22, 1863.  Grade: 3
