Luderitz
This well-traveled card was mailed from Malaysia (not Namibia!) in 1991, with Malaysian stamp and postmark fully legible. Minor bend in upper right front corner. It has various attributions: Kapps, Bismark, Mark van Aardt. Grade: 3

Dune curtain
Card by Pupkewitz dates from 1993 but was mailed in 1997. Stamp and postmark are there. Creases are visible on front, and there are some edge abrasions. Grade: 4

Windhoek, Turnhalle (Maximum Card)
Before it became Namibia, the territory (German colony, then South Africa’s U.N. Mandate) was South West Africa–until 1990. This sepia, unused Maximum Card was issued in June 1985. Turnhalle has a rich history of its own. Grade: 1

Herd of sheep (South West Africa)
As we know, (most of) South West Africa became Namibia in 1990, so this unused card predates that. Doubt the landscape has changed much, though. We’ve always wanted to visit but it’s far from here. Grade: 1
-
San (Bushmen)
Unused card with a very small remnant of clear tape on the reverse. Grade: 2
-
Donkey cart trip
Unused card, but with an abrasion and a name on the reverse. Grade: 4

Greetings from S.W.A. / Namibia
Captions on the reverse, from an era spanning “South West Africa” and “Namibia”, identify Bushman, Ovambo, and Herero groups. The used card itself is in poor condition, with a vertical fold, and the stamp is missing. A small bit of unreadable postmark remains. Grade: 5

Herero Women
Unused card, produced in Namibia, with a photo by Gerald Hoberman. The registration of the printed text on the reverse seems slightly too much for the boundaries of the card but we do not think the card has been cut in any way. Grade: 1
