Two cards from the 1980s are available. One, never mailed, has minor age discoloration on reverse but otherwise unmarked and is a prize catch for Hilton Hotel fans (Grade: 2, $3). The other was mailed in 1980 with stamp and partly legible postmark, as well as blue airmail sticker affixed (Grade: 1, $5).

This oversized card was mailed from Melbourne in 1992 and has one stamp and postmark intact. Many scenes: Yarra River, Prince’s Bridge, Swanston St., St. Kilda Road, a tram–nice representation of the city. Normal aging and a bit of abrasion on top edge. Grade: 2

Card was mailed from Malaysia in 1988, and has Malaysian stamp and postmark. Some creasing around the edges and corners. And what an impressive range of names printed on the back: James Henry Fox, Chirnside, Wolfgang Sievers, F.D. Atkinson … well, those names are there, and if they sound like keywords, oops! Grade: 3

Two of these 1996 cards from Barker Souvenirs are available. One is unmailed, in as-new condition (Grade: 1, $4) while the other was mailed from Malaysia in 1994 with a commemorative stamp but no legible postmark (Grade: 3, $3). Hate to let them go because my name is Jim, but life is like that. Maybe yours is too, or your friend’s, or your relative’s…hint, hint.

This is me, Ayers Rock
Three never-mailed pieces of these cards are available, dating from 1993. As-new condition apart from very minor aging on reverse (Grades: 1, $3.50). Plus one more that was mailed from Alice Springs in 1993, with stamp and partial postmark (Grade: 1, $4.50). And, oh yes: that was me. Now I know how politically incorrect it was.

I’ve climbed Ayers Rock
Two of these unused cards are available, great condition apart from the beginning of discoloration on reverse. By the way, it’s not a climb for the faint of heart no matter how easy it looks. Bought in 1996. Grades: 1

Aboriginal No Smoking
Four cards from 1996 are available. Reverse says PITJANTJATJARA, the name and language of an Aboriginal people of Central Australia. These two words for “no smoking” may be the only two words you will know in that language. These were never mailed, and are beginning to age on reverse. One is Grade: 2 ($4), and three are Grade: 3 ($3.50).
