Sunset
Card was mailed from the USA in 1977, so it has a US stamp and full postmark. Otherwise, a normal card of a sunset. Grade: 3
-
Nassau, two wheel cart
In 1960, the writer was clearly happy to be there and so we are happy to share the happiness with you. Stamp and full postmark. Grade: 1
-

-
Nassau, Seafloor Aquarium
Unused card showing “Linus jumping — Herman waiting his turn.” Grade: 1
-
Exumas, Ocean Beach
Unused but aging card R22547, whose caption says “Undoubtedly one of the few virgin beaches left in the world.” Never mind that the photo has people in it … and if that claim was true in the 1950s when this card was probably printed, there’s no hope left for us now. Grade: 3
-
Freeport, Holiday Inn
For hardcore Holiday Inn postcard collectors, this card was mailed in 1972 and the stamp is there, but multiple postmarks and parts of postmarks have made a mess on both sides, and there are abrasions. Nevertheless, if this is the last of the properties you need … here it is! Grade: 4
-
Nassau, Government House (Bahamas)
Someone had a great holiday in 1955 and wrote this card while on their way home to the USA. The card was mailed from New York with stamp and postmark. Grade: 3
-
Nassau, The Governor’s Mansion
Mailed in 1981 with stamp and postmark. Showing its age, but otherwise clean. Grade: 2
-
Freeport, Beach Area of the Famous King’s Inn Hotel
Is this now the Bell Channel Inn? Trying to learn exactly what happened with King’s Inn is a real challenge. Happily, we don’t need to go there–so to speak. We have two of these unused Plastichrome cards P78456. One has some light smudging on the reverse (Grade: 2, $3) and the other a quarter-inch tear on the right edge (Grade: 4, $1).
-
Nassau, Changing the Guard
Unused John Hinde card 2BH21. The front is OK. The reverse is extremely heavily handled, otherwise unmarked. Grade: 3
-
Conchs
Are any left, in those crystal waters? Unused, aging but unmarked card. Grade: 2
-
Nassau, Native Hat and Basket Shop
Unused linen Curteich-Chicago C.T. Art-Colortone card 0B-H1835 (or is it OB-H1835?). Grade: 1
-
The Islands of The Bahamas
Unused, wholly “local” card. Grade: 1
-
The Sand Dollar, Shells & Poinsettia
Unused. Grade: 1
-
Ocean Cay
An MSC Marine Reserve, pictured on this unused card. Grade: 1
-
Freeport / Grand Bahama Island
These map postcards often compel us to place a card in multiple theme categories, and this one is no exception. Unused, it’s more a map of Grand Bahama than just of Freeport but it’s also just the type of card we would like if someone mailed it to us. We went to Nassau once. For four hours. Grade: 1
-
Nassau, multiple views
On this unused card, apart from the center of town, see the Nassau Marina and Paradise Island Beach. Grade: 1
