  • Shenzhou spacecraft programme – separate sheet (set)

This is a separate sheet that comes with the book.  We might be missing some nuance of the instruction, but it looks like the idea is to scratch off the silver surface (and there are many) and key in the matched numbers with a password to join a lucky draw.  Prizes could have included joining a live show, “big prizes,” movie tickets … but only available until April 2014.  See also scans 20307525A,B, and D.

  • Year of the Snake postcards, currency, and more (set)

This bound item measures 8-5/8″ x 13″ x 1/2″ in its cardboard cover.  Scans 20307526A through E give you an idea of what’s inside.  Remove the sleeve and open to the inside front cover (526B) with text.  Facing that (not shown), a Happy New Year sheetlet with what looks like four stamps, but they’re not postage.  Turn the page to see two facing pages, each with many currency notes of special serial numbers.  Scan 526C shows one of those two pages; notes on the facing page are 1RMB and the serial numbers for those end in three identical numbers (111,222, etc.).  Several more thick pages follow, with actual stamp sheetlets, mint stamps, and the like.  Then three more facings, each with two pieces of joined postcards having pre-printed postage (scan 526D).  As if all that was not enough, on the inside back cover, see scan 526E — that’s a credit-card-sized 3D Buddhist blessing.  Grade: 1
