-
The Autumn of Our Discontent
Forgive our liberties. Unused card, blank on the reverse, using Mid-Autumn Festival as a reference point for other events you probably know well by now. Grade: 1

-
Skyline
Unused card, blank reverse, a work in progress for the “12” in question. Grade: 1
-
The Christmas Pig
Unused, and blank on the reverse. You won’t be able to see it clearly in the scan, but the crystal ball held by pig contains a Christmas tree emblazoned with “Stand with” Hong Kong. Grade: 1

Hong Kong Disneyland – 15th Anniversary – Operation Santa Claus (A)
One of two postcard variants Disney issued in 2020 to celebrate its 15th anniversary (even while the park was closed) and to generate proceeds for a local charity called Operation Santa Claus. These were really hard to get. Card measures 4-3/4″ x 6-3/4″, and for good reasons can only be a very limited edition. Unused. Grade: 1

Hong Kong Disneyland – The Kindest One of All (set of 6)
We’re showing you the back of this set of six unused cards, still unopened in its original cellowrap but with the retail price taken out of the photo. The insert in the pack shows you designs (we suppose) for each of the six cards, and we suggest you compare these with our other two listings nearby for similar sets. They are all different. Grade: 1

Bruce Lee’s Legacy (set of 7)
We offer a set of seven cards, formally called (by Hongkong Post) “Bruce Lee’s Legacy in the World of Martial Arts”. They are the Post Office’s Postage Prepaid Picture Card Series No. 64, and therefore have pre-printed postage good for mailing anywhere. Our scan shows you two of the seven cards in each set. One set has no cancellation of the printed postage (Grade: 1, $20). Another set has a special Bruce Lee postmark (Grade: 1, $24).
-
Bruce Lee’s Legacy (set of 6)
Issued by Hongkong Post in 2020, these sets of six unused cards come in two versions. Each set features a different Lee movie, and one card from each of the two versions appears in our scan. Version #1 has no postage, no postmark (Grade: 1, $18). Version #2 is a set of six maximum cards, with large stamp and postmark (Grade: 1, $29).
-

-
Classical Novels of Chinese Literature – Romance of the Three Kingdoms (set of 8)
The technical description: a set of eight unused cards, with pre-printed postage, issued by Hongkong Post as “Postage Prepaid Picture Card Series No. 65”. Our scan shows only one of the eight cards. Just because we can, we will tell you the names of the eight scenes on the cards: The Oath of the Peach Garden; A Notion of Heroes over Warm Wine; Escorting Sisters-in-law over a Thousand Miles; Three Visits to the Thatched Cottage; Zhao Yun Saving the Young Lord; Empty Fort Stratagem; The Arrow through the Halberd; and Borrowing Arrows with Straw Boats. Epic, indeed. Grade: 1
-
19th Century China Trade Paintings (set of 8)
A set of eight cards — the scan shows only one — of Hongkong Post’s Postage Prepaid Picture Card Series No. 66. Issued in 2021, the cards’ pre-printed postal imprints have special philatelic postmarks. Grade: 1
-
Games of the XXXII Olympiad Tokyo 2020 – Team Hong Kong, China (set of 4)
This is a set of four cards, issued by Hongkong Post in 2021. There’s no pre-printed postage (unusual for Hongkong Post), and our scan shows table tennis as just one of the cards; other subjects include bicycling, diving, and windsurfing. The postcards are unused and still in their original cello wrap. And why is this set so expensive? As far as we can tell — and this is accurate up to the time we write this — the cards were never put on general sale, but instead made available as a bonus item redeemable by subscribers who had enough points from the Post Office’s annual subscription programme. None of that matters to you, of course, but unless things change, there will never be many of these sets available. Anywhere. Grade: 1
-
Teaspoon Tram and Bus Series (2 items)
We think there are two unused cards in each of these two sets, but they are both in their original unopened cello-wrap. They were sold by Hongkong Post, which would not allow inspection before purchase, but they turn out to have been produced by a private company and somehow found their way into the Post Office for sale. The cards suggest people should cut out and fold the bus (or tram) but that would be an expensive way to get a paper model. Both sets together for $9, or either single set for $5. Grades: 1
-
2021 SPCA(HK) 100th Anniversary (set of 6)
This set of six unused cards without any pre-printed postage was issued by Hongkong Post in 2021 to celebrate the Centenary of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Hong Kong). Our scan shows one card (dog) while other cards have a cat; what might be a tortoise; a rabbit; a bird; and some indeterminate animal that sort of has the face of a camel and the body of a bear. They’re all in party mode, as we will be if you buy this set! Grade: 1
-
2021 SPCA(HK) 100th Anniversary (set of 6) (Maximum Cards)
See our description for item 20308921. These are the same cards, but in maximum style (with co-ordinating stamps and postmarks on the front). Three sets are available. Two have the coloured heart postmark as you see in the scan. The third has a special B&W philatelic cancellation. All unused, all Grade: 1
-
Disneyland, Happiest Place on Earth (set of 12)
If you look at this from more than about one foot away, it looks exactly like a hardcover book. It’s not; it’s a box in book format containing 12 lithograph postcards (see our entry 20308923B). Measurements of the whole thing as enclosed in its original protective plastic cover: 7″ high x 6″ across x 1-3/4″ deep. Note that the front logo specifies “Hong Kong Disneyland” and that the spine of the box — not seen in our scan — entitles this “Happiest Place on Earth”. Now please see the scan for 20308923B. Grade: 1
-
Disneyland, Happiest Place on Earth (set of 12) – reverse
First, please see what we wrote about item 20308923A. This is the back of the “book” and shows thumbnails of the 12 cards. We’ve left the original price sticker on, but deleted their price so as not to confuse anyone. Grade: 1
-
Feel 100% (set of 8)
“Feel 100%” is an original comic created by artist Lau Wan-kit. The story, set in Hong Kong, depicts an intricate metropolitan love story. It won the Gold Award at the Second International Manga Award organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan in 2008, and then in 2021, Hongkong Post further recognised this effort with Postage Prepaid Picture Card Series No. 67, a set of eight cards with coloured, pre-printed airmail postage on the reverses. The set is in its original Cello-wrap, and the cards have special Philatelic postmarks. Grade: 1
-
Reporters
We are taking a chance by listing this 6″ x 8-1/4″ unused card, but without any comment. Grade: 1
-
Movie Scenic Locations in Hong Kong (set of 4)
Our scan shows you the front of one card and the back of another, from the set of four Hong Kong Post “Postage Prepaid Picture Card Series No. 68”. That’s Jumbo floating restaurant, which we had hoped would reopen eventually but it sailed away and “capsized”. The other three cards show Two International Finance Centre, the “Monster Building” (in a residential area), and Kau U Fong, once an obscure residential lane. Each of these locations featured in a film during the past few years; and, no, we have no idea why Santa Claus is prominent on each card apart from their having been issued in December 2021. Three unused sets are available: two sets have special postmarks while one set has none. Each set: Grade: 1
-
Coolies in Chinese Raincoats
This ancient and unused card from Turco-Egyptian Tobacco Store is an iconic representative of that sub-class of original Hong Kong postcards highlighting what some foreigners thought other foreigners should see. For the record, we don’t see raincoats like this here any more. Or any raincoats at all: it’s usually too hot and steamy to wear them. Grade: 1
-
Museum (A)
We refer back to some earlier postcards in our “Hong Kong” category, and want to advise that we are doing our best to be very careful about what we display. Unfortunately that means you will need to do your own research about this and the few cards to follow in this sequence. Not for sale to residents of Hong Kong or PR China. Grade: 1

-
Hong Kong Olympic Team 1996 – four sports
It just seems best that we reproduce the entire caption since it applies to the next few cards in this sequence also. Here goes: “First day of issue: 29 October 1996. Official Souvenir Postcard issued by the Amateur Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong to congratulate the outstanding achievements of the Hong Kong Olympic Team at the Centennial Olympic Games, 1996.” (That’s also in Chinese.) Unused, and note that cards in this sequence do *not* have preprinted postage. Grade: 1
