Six Views (238)
A somewhat busy, unused, 5-1/8″ x 7″ card. Grade: 1
-
Madame Tussauds
Not all that easy to get, we had to go up to Victoria Peak, to the Madame Tussauds souvenir shop, and these unused cards were sort of tucked away. Considering we were the only people anywhere around due to the pandemic shutdown, it’s a minor miracle the shop was open at all. Grades: 1
-
Hong Kong Disneyland – The Most Magical Show
The item contains a round sticker of Mickey, and a postcard, each in its own original Cello-wrap. The left part of our scan shows what it looks like when the sticker (not stuck!) lays over the postcard. The right part of the scan is what it looks like if we flip the sticker up so you can see the (unused) card. That blank white circle is just the back of the sticker as flipped — it’s not a flaw. The postcard does specify HK Disneyland on the back. Grade: 1
-

-
Hong Kong Disneyland – Castle of Magical Dreams (set of 13)
To be precise, “13 Royal Fairytales and Postcards,” which we want to assume means at least 13 postcards in this set — but it is in its original Cello-wrap and we have not opened that. Evidence is in our scan: on the left, the front of the pack. On the right, most of the back (showing those cards?) but with original pricing cut off at the bottom so as not to confuse you. This set is unique to Hong Kong Disneyland, and without free-standing shops here, you need to go there to get the cards. Grade: 1
-
Hong Kong Palace Museum (set of 8)
Issued in 2022 as “Postage Prepaid Picture Card Series No. 69”, these unused cards have coloured airmail postage printed. The set is undisturbed in its original plastic wrap (Grade: 1, $22). Then we have one more set where each card has a special philatelic postmark (Grade: 1, $24).
-
Convention and Exhibition Centre
Unused 5-1/2″ x 7″ Tourists Cards 301 with artwork by Chan Kau On. Grade: 1
-

Actually Hong Kong Island’s Central District on this unused Tourists Card 074 measuring 5-1/2″ x 7″. Grade: 1
-
Night view from KLN (Kowloon)
More like twilight but a nice old view just the same on this unused Tourists Card 083, 5-1/2″ x 7″. Grade: 1
-
Panoramic view of HK after dark
Another in a series of similar views on this unused Tourists Card 006 measuring 5-1/2″ x 7″. Grade: 1
-
Hong Kong & Kowloon from the Peak
Good luck getting this to its destination undamaged — unless we pack it for you. Unused card measuring 4″ x 11″. Grade: 1
-
Dinosaurs (set of 6)
Showing you the front of one of the six cards (still in its plastic wrap) and the reverse of another (that barcode and pricing is on the wrap, not the card), with a typical philatelic postmark. Issued by Hongkong Post in November 2022, this is Postage Prepaid Picture Card Series No. 70, and the postage is pre-printed. Grade: 1
-
Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre
This unused card is a specialty item, made from bamboo. It’s in its original cellowrap. Grade: 1
-
Street Scene
Artwork by Kwok Cheung Sing on this unused 5-1/2″ x 7″ Tourists Cards 306. By the way, that large white sign with red characters in the upper right is a provision shop dealing in bird’s nests. Grade: 1
-
Central and North Wanchai at Night
This is unused 5″ x 7″ card WYY 245. More Wanchai and Admiralty than Central, but that’s OK. Grade: 1
-
Day Scene from Kowloon
Maybe this was once a “Day Scene” but it has been a long time now that bat wing junks (those red sails) are gone, at least from anywhere near Hong Kong. Unused 5-1/2″ x 7″ Tourists Cards 079. Grade: 1
-
Victoria Harbour 046
This 5-1/2″ x 7″ Tourists Cards 046 is captioned “Victoria Harbour View from Peak” but that’s wrong. It’s a view OF The Peak in the distant background from Kowloon’s Ocean Terminal. Grade: 1
-
Boat People at Aberdeen fishing village
This type of scene is now to be found only on postcards, where it is undeniably safer and healthier than before. Unused 5-1/2″ x 7″ card 013 from Tourists Cards. Grade: 1
-
Panoramic view of Hong Kong after dark
Unused card 310 from Tourists Cards, 5″ x 7″. Grade: 1
-
Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre at night
Unused 5″ x 7″ card WYY 230. Grade: 1
-
Street Scene of Wanchai
The view in this unused, 5-1/2″ x 7″ Tourists Cards 007 looks new, but because we live about ten minutes’ walk from this location, we can tell you it doesn’t look at all like this now. Many — not all — taxis are still red, though. Grade: 1
-
Harbour View at Evening
Unused 5-1/2″ x 7″ Tourists Cards 309. To be specific, the view is of Central District of Hong Kong Island, and some of the world’s tallest buildings are in this shot. Grade: 1
-
Aberdeen, Jumbo Restaurant
Alas, poor Jumbo, who met her end in 2022 under circumstances even Agatha Christie would admire. Unused 5-1/2″ x 7″ Tourists Cards 038. Grade: 1
-
Golden Bauhinia Square
Unused 5-1/2″ x 7″ Tourists Cards 088. This is an accurate and contemporary photo (as of right now), yet somehow it looks a lot different when you’re standing in front of it. Grade: 1
-
Panoramic view of Hong Kong at Evening
Unused 5-1/2″ x 7″ Tourists Cards 307. Much of that water in the foreground is gone now — land reclamation. Grade: 1
-
Fire Cracker Night at Victoria Harbour
The photo on this unused 5-1/2″ x 7″ Tourists Cards 102 looks like it might have been taken from a tall building in North Point, looking towards Central District. Fireworks displays had been banned for awhile and it’s hard to say whether people cared if they come back or not. (Too much of a good thing.) Grade: 1
-
Dragon Boat Festival
Or, more accurately, the decoration on one vessel, shown on this unused 5-1/2″ x 7″ Tourists Cards 011. Grade: 1
-
Night View of Wanchai (024)
Unused 5-1/2″ x 7″ card 024 from the Tourists Cards series. The caption is technically accurate, we suppose, but there are better views of what we know as “Wanchai”. Grade: 1
-
Convention & Exhibition Centre 033
Unused Tourists Cards series 033, 5-1/2″ x 7″. Captioned as the Convention Centre but actually a decent harbour view of all of Wanchai District. Grade: 1
-
Public Housing Estate 036
One might think: well, it can’t be like that, not in Hong Kong. But yes, it can. This is unused Tourists Cards 036 (5-1/2″ x 7″). Grade: 1
-
Night view towards Eastern Hong Kong 040
Unused Tourists Cards 040 (5-1/2″ x 7″) with bilingual English and Chinese caption. Grade: 1
-
Junk passes by Central (District) 044
As we’ve noted before, during our time here, such Chinese “junks” rarely if ever appear in Victoria Harbour any more. If one did, photographers would come out in droves. Unused Tourists Cards 044 (5-1/2″ x 7″). Grade: 1
-
Street scene of Wanchai 045
This is unused Tourists Cards 045, 5-1/2″ x 7″. The same photo appears on other postcards with various designs, so someone got a lot of mileage out of it. The scene itself has been transformed beyond recognition, but trams still run through there. Grade: 1
-
Panoramic view from the Peak
Were we the boss of that postcard company, we might have chosen a less sterile and monochromatic view … but we’re not, and we accept the unused Tourists Cards 050 (5-1/2″ x 7″) item for what it is: Grade: 1
