Showing 81–120 of 175 postcards

  • Polar Adventure (Set of 8)

As reference, this set is included as one of the four different sets in 20308557A/B.  Issued by Hongkong Post in 2013, this set of eight “lovely and precious animals viz. Arctic Fox, Gentoo Penguin, King Penguin, Northern Sea Lion, Pacific Walrus, Snowy Owl, Southern Rockhopper Penguin, and Spotted Seal” on postage-prepaid postcards measures about 7-1/2″ x 10″ and consists of the cards wrapped in a designed cover and further wrapped in heavy plastic.  We have eight sets available, all unused, but they differ in these ways:  four sets have no postmarks (Grades: 1, $28) and four sets have datestamped first-day postmarks (Grades: 1, $34).

  • The 150th Anniversary of Stamp Issuance in Hong Kong (Set of 7)

A set of seven unused cards (“Postage Prepaid Picture Card Series No. 47”), issued by Hongkong Post, in their original Cellophane wrap.  The cards are preprinted with global Air Mail postage, and the scan shows one of the seven different cards.  We have a few sets available, some with special postmarks on the back and others without.  Just tell us what you’d like.   Grades: 1

  • Hong Kong Disneyland (Set of 5)

Not to be confused with our other sets of three cards, this is a (scarcer) set of five, in its original wrap.  We have scanned the back instead of the front–and deleted the original retail price–because it shows miniatures of all five cards.  Very iconic Hong Kong, indeed, and hard to get.  Grade: 1

    Code: 20308563

    Price: $45.00

Hong Kong Disneyland (Set of 5)
  • Hong Kong Science Museum (Set of 6)

A set of six unused cards produced by the Science Museum in conjunction with the long-gone Urban Council.  The scan shows the paper sleeve (upper left) and three of the six cards.  The other three cards include a relief model of Hong Kong’s land area, a security robot on patrol in the museum, and “images made from the synchronization of a series of time-lapsed images taken by camera”.  The aircraft, not incidentally, is “Betsy,” a DC-3 built in 1942 and the first plane of Cathay Pacific Airways.  Grade: 1

  • Hongkong Postcard Set Night 1 (Set of 12?)

A set of (they say 12) unused 5-1/8″ x 7″ glossy cards in their original wrapper, unopened.  The scan shows what should be the cards, but only 11 views.  The 12th must be a mystery.  We have blanked out a little information from the lower right of the scan, nothing that affects the set.  Grade: 1

    Price: $19.00

  • Hong Kong by day & night (Set of 12)

  • Inclusive Arts (Set of 4)

This is a set of four cards issued by Hongkong Post as its “Postage Prepaid Picture Card Series No. 49”.  All four cards are different; the scan shows just one.  In maximum card style (but these are not maximum cards), the pre-printed postage matches the card.  We have three unused sets available.  One has no postmarks (Grade: 1, $9).  One has special first-day-of-issue Inclusive Arts postmarks in the shape of an artist’s pallette (Grade: 1, $14).  One has Hong Kong GPO first-day postmarks (Grade: 1, $12).

  • Hong Kong Vintage Posting Box by Chocolate Rain (Set of 16)

It is odd for Hongkong Post to issue something like this, but they did, so we will describe what we have.  They are books of postcards, bound into a softcover sets of which you see the cover here.  The whole thing measures 5-1/2″ x 9-1/2″ x about 1/4″ and is heavy.  Of the 17 pages in each set, 16 are postcards (in the similar style as this photo) and one is a sort of introductory page of the same size, but not a postcard.  Hope that’s clear.  These are odd.  Special postage rate will apply:  please ask us.  Grade: 1

  • Dinosaur (3D) (Set of 6)

This is a set of six different 3D cards, printed on exceptionally heavy stock.   What you see in the photo is one card, and one sample reverse:  each card has pre-printed postage.  We have several different sets.  Two sets have the postmark you see in the scan (Grades: 1, US$34).  Two sets have a different “GPO” postmark (Grades: 1, US$34).  Two sets have no postmark (Grades: 1, US$29).

  • Hong Kong Disneyland (Set of 3) (3D)

We waited a long time for these, and were not certain they would ever appear.  It’s an (unused) set of three 3D cards (lenticular printing) showing stylised Hong Kong scenes.  You already know that 3D cards don’t scan very well, but we show the fronts of all three, and the typical reverse of one.  In the original packaging.  Grade: 1

    Price: $40.00

Hong Kong Disneyland (Set of 3) (3D)
  • Hong Kong Museums Collection, WU Guanzhong (Set of 7)

To be precise, this is Hongkong Post’s “Postage Prepaid Picture Card Series No. 51” and is a set of seven unused cards issued on 17 June 2014; the scan only shows one.  We now have five sets available, and all are Grade: 1.  One set has no postmarks ($14).  Two sets have a first-day “G.P.O.” postmark ($16), and two sets have a special pictorial “Hong Kong Museums Collection” postmark ($18).

  • China Hong Kong SP062 (set of 32) – front cover

This is a set of 32 unused cards, in a cardboard cover.  The individual cards as they are shown on the back of the cover appear in scan 20308616B.  A few cards in the set are not of Hong Kong.  Moreover, the cards do not have captions.  This is just a quirky set mostly of Hong Kong but originating from mainland China.  We have one other set of the same cards (we think), but the front cover graphic is of a Bruce Lee statue.  Each of these sets:  Grade: 1

  • Historical Postcard Collections of Hong Kong – Hong Kong Culture – Vol. 10 (set of 28)

We show you the front and back of an older set that contains 28 cards, including a variety of buildings and urban and rural scenes.  These include but are not limited to Aberdeen Country Park, Po Leung Kuk, the Railway Museum at Tai Po Hui, Hong Kong Stadium, a statue of a horse at the Jockey Club in Happy Valley, and many more.  If you are looking for a single card of any specific scene in that set, we have a few singles — just ask.  For the complete set, Grade: 2

    Code: 20308625

    Price: $44.00

Historical Postcard Collections of Hong Kong – Hong Kong Culture – Vol. 10 (set of 28)
  • Tour Points Collections of Hong Kong – Vol. 8 (Set of 28)

The focus in this set of 28 cards is on scenes in Tsin Shui Wan, Aberdeen, Ocean Park (misspelled as “Peak”), Haw Par Mansion, and Tai Ping Shan.  The set is in its original unopened packaging so we don’t know exactly what cards are in there, but you can be certain many scenes no longer exist.  The outer cellowrap is rumpled but the cards should be fine.  Just to be safe, we will say Grade: 2

    Code: 20308627

    Price: $44.00

Tour Points Collections of Hong Kong – Vol. 8 (Set of 28)
  • Country Side of Hong Kong, Vol. 1 (Set of 30)

Sorry to have to price this unused set higher, but cards of scenes like these were never common, and as the countryside is grabbed (legally and otherwise) by developers, that’s it.  We may have one set of Vol. 2, and one set of Vol. 4.  (Vol. 1 is sold.)  Some views are in “Country Parks”, some in remote areas and some in outlying islands.   Please confirm availability with us in advance.   Grades: 2

Country Side of Hong Kong, Vol. 1 (Set of 30)
  • Country Side of Hong Kong, Vol. 2 (Set of 30)

See the description in 20308628.  The scan here shows the cover of Vol. 2.  We also have Vol. 4, though are not creating a separate entry for it.  Please ask us about availability.

  • Aerial View Collection of Hong Kong “13” (Set of 28)

This opened set has 28 cards, unused, loosely bound or falling out, but no rips or tears.  The scenes are mostly aerial, a mix of urban and rural as things were in the 1980s.  Everything has changed since then.  Because of the heavy handling only, Grade: 3

    Code: 20308630

    Price: $38.00

Aerial View Collection of Hong Kong “13” (Set of 28)
  • Aerial View Collection of Hong Kong “14” (Set of 28)

Still in the original cellowrap, which itself is crumbling and tattered, the set of 28 cards looks like it is probably still in good condition.  We assume the collection has the same sort of variety as our entry 20308630.  Grade: 2

    Code: 20308631

    Price: $42.00

Aerial View Collection of Hong Kong “14” (Set of 28)
  • Life Style of Children in Old Hong Kong (Set of 28?)

Another set that is hardly likely to be found again.  It’s in the original tattered wrapper so we’ve not opened it.  It probably has at least 28 and maybe as many as 30 cards.  Classic and well worth the price.  Grade: 2

    Code: 20308632

    Price: $69.00

Life Style of Children in Old Hong Kong (Set of 28?)
  • Celebration Reuniformation of China in Hong Kong (Set of 30)

We like this word “Reuniformation”.  The cards are nice, too.  You will see individual entries from this set elsewhere in our “Hong Kong” category, but this description will serve for 20308633/634/635.  Each is a set of 30 unused cards, in the original but crumbling cellowrap.  Each presents various views of the 1997 handover from Britain to China, from different perspectives.  Each is in roughly the same condition:  the cards should be fine, but we’ve not checked, so we will say Grade: 2

  • A Garrison in Hong Kong (Set of 30)

Commemorating events of the 1997 handover of Hong Kong from Britain to China, this is an unused set of 30 cards in ther original old wrap.  The cards, as with similar sets we list, should be in excellent condition but we have not opened the pack so we will guess at Grade: 2.  Please confirm availability with us in advance.

  • Astronomical Phenomena (3D) (Set of 7)

This unused set is Hongkong Post’s “Postage Prepaid Picture Card Series No. 52,” with pre-printed postage corresponding to the photos, and all with 17 March 2015 first day of issue postmarks.  These are 3D cards.  Our scan shows two of the fronts and one of the reverses, for your reference, but there are seven different cards in each set, and four sets are available.  By the way, these are really sturdy and quite heavy.  Grades: 1

    Code: 20308644

    Price: $29.00

Astronomical Phenomena (3D) (Set of 7)
  • Geological Heritage of Hong Kong (Set of 10)

The scan shows three of the 10 cards (in a 4-7/8″ x 8-7/8″ cardboard case) whose cardboard cover is subtitled “Sketches and photos of 10 geological features of Hong Kong by Prof. Chan Lung Sang”.  As this cover had been opened before, the tape that originally sealed it has left a small mark on the back of the cover–not disturbing the cards themselves.  Note that some of these locations are a UNESCO Heritage site but the cards do not say so.  Cards:  Grades 1.  Case:  Grade: 3

    Code: 20308645

    Price: $19.00

Geological Heritage of Hong Kong (Set of 10)
  • Hong Kong Disneyland 10th Anniversary – Happy Memories to 10th (Set of 10)

These didn’t last long at their source because they commemorated Hong Kong Disneyland’s 10th anniversary in 2015.  Our scan shows you the front and back of this set of 10 cards, still in their original cellowrap.  These cards are by definition unique and limited edition, and should be desirable for Disney fans.  Grade: 1

    Code: 20308646

    Price: $59.00

Hong Kong Disneyland 10th Anniversary – Happy Memories to 10th (Set of 10)
  • Hong Kong Disneyland set of three cards with coloured pencils

Each card in this set of three is individually cellowrapped.  We’re sorry abut the poor scan but it’s because those pencils disrupt the photo.  One card (in the scan) has the whole team.  One card has Snow White and princesses.  One card has Mickey and Minnie and Donald and Daisy; all three cards have richly decorated scenic park backgrounds, and Hong Kong Disneyland is identified on the wrapper.   And you’re wondering:  what about the pencils?  The backs of the cards do not have any special outlines for colouring but there’s plenty of space for youngsters to use their imagination.  Grade: 1

  • Chinese and Foreign Folklore (Set of 6)

This unused set of six cards was issued by Hongkong Post in 2015 with coloured pre-printed postage, and special First Day philatelic postmarks.  The scan shows two of the six cards as examples. In the original wrap.  Grade: 1

    Code: 20308659

    Price: $12.00

Chinese and Foreign Folklore (Set of 6)
  • Hong Kong Post Office Hologram Postcard Series 3-8 (1997) (Set of 6)

First, let’s provide the English version of bilingual captions on the reverse:  “Hong Kong Post Office Hologram Postcard Series No. (3 through 8, each card a different number) to commemorate HONG KONG ’97 Stamp Exhibition from 12 to 16 February 1997”.  Note that the holographic stamp on the lower left is printed into the card, not attached.  The same is true for the three other stamps on the right, and pre-printed actual postage on the reverse.

We have two sets available.  One has no special postmarks on the reverse; the other (see scan) does.  The scan shows you three of the six cards in each set; the others include a highway interchange, bamboo scaffolding, and a ceremonial dragon.  The set without postmarks is Grade: 1 ($22).  One of the holographic stamps on one of the cards from the other set has a flaw, so the whole set is  Grade: 3 ($10).  Any questions?  Please ask us.  Unused, and with original cellowrap.

  • Historical Postcard Collections of Hong Kong (Set of 32)

We’re supposing this set was produced in the 1980s, from old photos.  The cellowrap is gone but all 32 sepia unused cards are still bound in, and span a vast and interesting cross-section of places and themes, military, education, cemetery, ships, construction, waterfronts … so much.  We will list this set in several theme categories, though without further explanation, so if it’s in a category you can be certain at least one card (but not all) meets the requirements.  You will hardly find this set anywhere else–very scarce now.  Because a price sticker lies over the original printed price, we’re assigning Grade: 2.

  • Hong Kong Pop Singers (Set of 5)

Five cards, five singers:  Anita Mui, Leslie Cheung, Danny Chan, Roman Tam, Wong Ka Kui — all now deceased, and commemorated on this “Postage Prepaid Picture Card Series No. 31” from 2005, with matching postage pre-printed on the reverses.  We only can show one card because of the way they were originally bound together, but if you want more information, please ask.  Grade: 1
