Three cards are available. There is some postmark smudging on the front of the one that was mailed, but reverse is good with full postmark and intact commemorative of a wasp (Grade: 3, $6). The others are unused (Grades: 1, $3).

Kuala Lumpur, Parliament House
Two cards are available. One was mailed and has commemorative “wasp” stamp but only barest fraction of a postmark, and some smudges on front (Grade: 3, $3). The other was mailed and has a stamp but extra ink markings on reverse and smudging on front (Grade: 5, $2).

Kuala Lumpur, Putra World Trade Centre
Three cards are available. Two were mailed, and have stamps and partial postmarks (Grades: 2, $4). The third may have been mailed in an envelope as it has all the writing, but no stamp or other marks (Grade: 4, $2).

Kuala Lumpur, railway station
Three cards are available of this iconic city landmark. Mailed in 1990-91, they each have a little postmark smudging on front, and stamp but only partial postmarks on reverse. Grades: 3

Shah Alam, Sultan Salahuddin Mosque
Both of the two cards available are excellent on the front, and have one stamp and almost-legible postmarks on reverse. Grades: 2

Kuala Lumpur, Chinatown
Yes, it’s Chinatown all right, though somehow they only want you to see the tops of umbrellas. Card from 1991, full stamp, partial postmark. Grade: 3

Malacca, Stadthuys and Christ Church
Someone wrote this card for mailing but then put it in an envelope. Malacca changes but this scene happily does not. Grade: 4

Melaka, Memorial Hall and A Famosa
You may notice the entry sometimes reads “Melaka” and sometimes “Malacca.” Both are correct: we tend to follow what the cards say. This was mailed in 1991, has a Terengganu stamp and partly legible postmark. Some smudging on front. Grade: 3

Georgetown, market
Another 1990 card, the location is in Penang and the card has a Wilayah Persekutuan stamp and illegible postmark. Grade: 3

Georgetown, waterfront
Not the Penang that most tourists see, but still. Card mailed, has stamp but only a bit of postmark. Front has only slight age mottling. Grade: 3

Penang, KOMTAR
At the time, the card tells us this was the tallest building in Malaysia. Well, it later lost out to the Petronas Towers so it shouldn’t feel too bad. Two of these cards are available. One mailed in 1990, one in 1991, each with stamp and full postmark. Grades: 1

Card was stamped for mailing but either was not mailed or the postmark machine completely missed it. Only because of that: Grade: 4

Kuala Lumpur, view from Dataran Merdeka
Two cards are available. One from 1990 has stamp and mostly legible postmark (Grade: 2, $4). One from 1990 is about the same on reverse but has postmark ink smudging on front (Grade: 3, $3).

Malacca, Cheng Hoon Teng Temple
Card doesn’t say this is in Malacca, but we know it is–don’t we? Three cards are available. The best has commemorative stamp and full postmark (Grade: 1, $4.50). The next is good on front but back has only a partial postmark (Grade: 2, $4). The last has a bit of corner torn off the stamp–not the card itself (Grade: 3, $3.50).

Langkawi, Pantai Cenang
Two cards are available. One was stamped for mailing but the postmark machine missed it (Grade: 4, $2.50). The other was mailed and has a stamp, but an insect has eaten two small holes through the card (Grade: 5, $1).

Kuala Lumpur, Parliament House at dusk
Though two of these cards are available, and each was mailed, they each have insect holes nibbled through. One ($2) has two tiny pinholes. The other ($1) provided the main course. Grades: 5

Mailed in 1991, this card has a Kedah stamp and partial postmark. Grade: 2

Penang, Chingay Procession
Two are available, both mailed in 1991. One is clean on front, has Johor stamp and partial postmark (Grade: 2, $4). The other has Penang stamp and full postmark but also a bit of smudging on front (Grade: 3, $3.50).

Kuala Kangsar, Ubudiah Mosque
Two early 90s cards are available, each with stamp and legible postmark. One is Grade 1 ($4) and the other, due to a bit of front ink smudge, is Grade 2 ($3.50).

Popular cool-climate resort in a warm country. Card mailed in 1995, with Perak stamp and almost-full postmark. Grade: 2

Lumut, Telok Batik Beach sunset
Not a lot of beach showing. Three cards are available, each mailed in 1990. Two are Grade 2 ($3) and one is Grade: 4 ($2).

Greetings from Kedah
Two mailed cards are available, showing multiple views of this northern state of Malaysia. One is from 1991, with Kedah stamp and legible postmark, and small pencilled notation of original price of card on reverse (Grade: 2, $4.50). The other is from 1990 with a sign language stamp but no distinct postmark (Grade: 3, $3).

Malaysia’s most famous (and only) legal casino complex. Card was mailed in 1991, has Pulau Pinang stamp but illegible postmark. Tiny ink smudge on one front margin. Grade: 2

Fishermen at work
Two early 90s cards, one with a Penang stamp, and one with a commemorative “wasp” stamp, each with legible postmark. The one with the Penang stamp is Grade 1 ($4); the other has a small scrape on one front margin, so is Grade 2 ($3.50).

Procession on 31 July 1988; two cards mailed in 1990 and 1991, respectively. 1990 card: Pulau Pinang stamp, partly legible postmark, clean front with minor corner abrasion (Grade: 2, $5). 1991 card: Two different Pulau Pinang stamps and legible postmark (Grade: 1, $6).

This 5″ x 7″ card was mailed in 2011 with two stamps and full postmark, along with blue bilingual “Mel Udara” airmail sticker affixed. Grade: 3

Kuala Lumpur, Masjid Jame
Two 1991 cards are available, each with stamp and legible postmark. Each has a small bit of postmark smudging on front. One has a commemorative stamp but also the upper right front corner is peeling back. Grades: 3

Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Street Carnival 1992
Two unused, as-new (if aging slightly) cards from 1992. The “2020” refers to “Vision 2020,” a clever if grand vision indeed. Grades: 1

Labuan, Sabah
Two of these S.W. Singapore cards LB8104 are available. One was mailed from this small town in 1995 with stamp and postmark intact (Grade: 1, $5). The other was written for mailing but not stamped so we need to downgrade the otherwise excellent card to Grade: 4 ($2.50).

Malacca, St. Paul’s Church
Two cards are available, each mailed in 1991. The better one has Melaka stamp and nearly full postmark, latent creasing but not really too visible (Grade: 2, $3.50). The other is a bit more creased and with postmark smudging on front (Grade: 4, $2).

Kuala Lumpur, Tabung Haji
This is a kind of savings fund building and was our next-door neighbour for 17 years. Actually our building is sticking up in the background. Such memories. Two cards are available, mailed 1985, stamp and postmarks intact. Grades: 1

Genting, hotel
Mailed in 1986 with a Negeri Sembilan stamp but unfortunately the entire card is overwhelmed by postmarks and postmark ink on front and reverse. Grade: 5

Pulau Redang, Trengganu
Two cards are available. One, with minor corner abrasions, was stamped for mailing (in 1991) but the postmark missed the card (Grade: 3, $3). The other dates from the late 1980s and was mailed, but the bit of postmark didn’t reach the stamp. Some corner and edge abrasion, and you can’t get much more tropical than this (Grade: 3, $3.50).
