Two cards are available. One was mailed from Kuching with two stamps in 1982 (Grade: 1, $5), and the other also from Kuching in 1981 with full postmark, two stamps, ink transfer on the front, and postal battering (Grade: 3, $4).

Sibu, Premier Hotel
Four cards are available, from the 1980s. They have rounded corners. Three are fine but starting to age (Grades: 2, $4) and the fourth is the same overall but has a scribble in the message area (Grade: 4, $2).

Mt. Kinabalu
Five cards, published by Salem, are available. One is unused (Grade: 1, $2.50). Two were mailed in 1986, each with stamp and partial postmark (Grades: 2, $3). One was mailed from Singapore (not Malaysia!) in 1988 with two different stamps and full postmark (Grade: 3, $4). Finally, one was mailed in Malaysia in 1986 with three stamps, blurred postmark, and blue Mel Udara label affixed (Grade: 2, $3).

Terengganu, Essence of the East Coast Charm
Nicely eclectic card from Visit Malaysia Year 1990, mailed in 1991 with a commemorative wasp stamp. Completely full postmark. Grade: 1

Visit Terengganu
Five cards are available, all sent by the same person in 1991. Each has a stamp (variously located on each card) and three of the five have postmarks (Grades: 2, $6.50). The other two have no postmarks (Grades: 4, $3.50). Note that each has some white correcting fluid at the bottom of the message area.

Kuala Lumpur, Bangunan Tabung Haji
We have 25 of these cards. Why? Because we used to live in one of these buildings, known as Desa Kudalari. Twenty-two of these cards have been mailed and are in various conditions, so if you want one (or more) we will just start with the best and work down; or, as you like it. Grades: 1-4. None higher than $3. Three are unused (Grades: 1, $3).

Gasing
The gasing is a heavy, spinning top that needs to be scooped atop a paddle. It takes some skill and is a Malaysian tradition. Three cards are available. Grades: 1

A wau is a kite, and a magnificent kite at that. Card was mailed with a commemorative stamp, but no legible postmark. Grade: 2

Ipoh, Bird’s eye view
Mailed in 1990, with Perak stamp (appropriate for Ipoh) and a mostly legible postmark. Grade: 1

Balancing a huge flag
Two cards are available, each mailed in 1991 with a single stamp. One has a full Kuantan postmark and significant ink smudging on the front (Grade: 3, $3.00) while the other has a faint postmark and clean front (Grade: 2, $3.50).

Bukit Jenun, Express Langkawi
Cards were issued by KTM (Malayan Railway) and all sent by the same person in 1990. They each have a Federal Territory stamp and partial postmark, and some ink smudging on the front; and two of the three have the orange bar coding on reverse. Grades: 3

Sunset
Nice but generic view of a Peninsular Malaysian sunset, with the obligatory palm trees. The card, mailed in 1984 with three different stamps but illegible postmark, has a bi-lingual airmail sticker and some postal battering around the edges. Grade: 3

Kuching, Blue Lake
This lake, actually closer to the town of Bau, has quite a story, involving arsenic, draining, all sorts of things. We are not certain we would ever swim in it. Card was mailed in 1982, has two stamps and complete Kuching postmark. Grade: 1

This is actually a chrysanthemum flower farm. The card dates from 1991 and was mailed, but without a legible postmark. Grade: 3

There are several different cards with different photos of the same Malaysian fruits. It’s confusing, but we think we’ve gotten it correct, here. The card was mailed in 1983 with two stamps but no legible postmark. Grade: 2

East Coast fishing village
Yes, the east coast really does look like this–in a few places. This card was mailed in 1991 with a Pahang stamp and full Kuantan postmark, but as you see there is massive postmark transfer on the front. Grade: 3
