Three unused, unmarked cards from the 1990s of this iconic Saigon hotel are available. The cards actiually have a white border around the photo but the scan missed it. Grades: 1

HCMC, Ben Thanh Market
Two of these Saigontourist Ho Chi Minh City postcards from the early 1980s are available–back when they only had telex numbers to print on the card. The view has barely changed over the years. Both were mailed from Ho Chi Minh City in 1989, with stamp and full (red) postmark each. Grades: 1

This card was mailed from Malaysia in 1995, with large Malaysian wildlife stamp but no legible postmark. Significant water stain on reverse; lower right front corner is a little crumpled. Grade: 4

Card from Vietnam, stamped with five uncancelled USA stamps for mailing in USA; orange bar code is at bottom, so the postmark machine failed that time. Basically this is a card of a lady washing dishes. Grade: 4

Card was mailed in Malaysia in 1995. It has two Malaysian stamps and mostly legible postmark, as well as affixed blue airmail sticker. Front is in excellent condition. Grade: 3

Saigon, New Quarter in Khanh Hoi
Contemporary (mailed in 1998) reproduction of a 1926 photograph. The card is in good shape and has three different stamps with partly readable postmark. Grade: 1

Ho Chi Minh City, center
More or less everything you could want in a contemporary Vietnamese postcard. This was mailed in 1997, has three colourful stamps (one is folded on one edge) and full postmarks. It also has faint orange postal barcodes scattered around the reverse, and a Vietnamese “par avion” stamp as well. Grade: 2

We can see no connection between the photo and the caption but let’s assume they are the experts and not us. Card was mailed in Saigon in 1995, has two full postmarks and two stamps. There is a faint postal barcode on the front bottom but you need to look for it to find it. Grade: 2

Three different stamps, three postmarks, one blue rubber Par Avion/May Bay” stamp and a faint orange postal bar code co-exist on this card mailed in 1997. It’s nice. Grade: 2

Dalat, Domaine de Marie Church
Sometimes the postmarks say “Saigon” and sometimes they say “Ho Chi Minh City,” which is about like it is in conversation, too. This card was mailed in 1996, two stamps and Ho Chi Minh postmark, along with prominent bar code on reverse and nearly invisible one on the front. Grade: 2

Intensely colourful card, mailed in 1996 with three large stamps of a fish and two full postmarks. Very faint postal barcode on the front–not intrusive. Grade: 2

Saigon, Opera House and Continental Hotel
This scene hasn’t changed much in many years–but it will. And the Continental was our favourite hotel, in many ways. Card was mailed in 1995, with two different stamps and mostly legible postmark. Minor abrasion from the postmark machine on the reverse, and very faint barcode hidden on the front. Grade: 2

They look like jumbo hamburgers but they’re not. And apart from the cultural oddity of the sugar, this card, mailed in 1997 from Saigon, has four large stamps, four full postmarks, and a “May Bay” par avion chop on the reverse too. Grade: 2
