Good thing this isn’t Winchester Cathedral or the price might be a little higher. As it is, the card was mailed sometime in the 1980s with a 26p stamp that did not get postmarked, and a blue air mail sticker (that didn’t get postmarked either). Reverse is showing its age. Grade: 3

Card was mailed in 1986 with two stamps and full postmark … some postmark streaking on the front that almost blends into the artwork. Grade: 2

What can we say? We need a category of “things most often found on postcards” and if you buy this we’ll see to it that you get some kind of a bonus. Mailed in 1986, with a 26p stamp that wasn’t postmarked and a slightly torn blue air mail sticker. Colourmaster card LO2261 or PLX9995, depending on which number you want to believe. Grade: 2

Pastoral scene unless all that in the background is some kind of strip mining. Card was mailed in 1992 with a 33p stamp and partial postmark, also the blue airmail sticker. Grade: 2

Hard not to notice that the major difference between Big Ben cards is the nature of the traffic on the road below. This was mailed in 1996, with a 41p stamp but no legible postmark. It has a blue air mail sticker. Grade: 2

Coronation regalia
This well-loved card of St. Edward’s Crown, The Orb, The Royal Sceptre with Cross, and The Royal sceptre with Dove was printed in USA for distribution in Canada, and obtained there in 1954. It was not mailed, and has a travel agent’s black rubber stamp on the reverse. Minor edge abrasions, otherwise the front is still quite clear. Grade: 4
