Auschwitz and Birkenau (folio)
Each of the three as-new folios available, from 1992, contains nine cards and a historical summary of these locations. The cards can be used as postcards, of course, but the message sections are largely pre-printed, quite possibly to save writers from having to describe the wretchedness of it all. Grades: 1

Warsaw, Old Town
Two cards are available, 4-3/4″ x 6-5/8″. They date from 2000. One is unused (Grade: 1, $5) while one was mailed, has two stamps, readable postmark, blue airmail sticker affixed, and also a big white strip with orange postal barcode across the front, courtesy of the US Postal Service (Grade: 4, $3). By the way, one of the restaurants in that location was distinctly unfriendly.

Kamieniec Podolski
We are confused because Wikipedia places this in the Ukraine but the card is definitely from Warsaw and the caption is in Polish. In any event you’ll know better than we do. The card is unused, as-new, from 2000. Grade: 1
-
Multiple views
This would be a terrific card were it not for the defacement by means of a pasted white strip and orange bar code done by the US Postal Service, and even more bar codes and abrasions on the reverse. It does have two stamps and full postmark, though. Grade: 4

When persons who are not from Poland, or nearby, see Polish words and place names, we sometimes wonder how these could be pronounced. The name of this town is a good example.
