Macau Post, Streets of Macao II
We’ve indicated earlier that Macau Post prints these cards for each new issue. They measure about 5-3/4″ x 7-1/4″ and are not really postcards but could be used that way. We have five of these, and what looks like a postmark in the scan is printed on the card. The reverse has full product details in English, Portuguese, and Chinese. Three of the five cards also have an extra round purple chop (blurry and/or not quite complete) from the post office counter. All: Grade: 1

Two of these unused items are available, and they come directly from Macau Post. What you see in the scan as a photo of a seal is actually a semi-opaque see-through window with that photo in it. (This means, you can look right through the card.) Unusual. Grades: 1

We continue to use both spellings of Macao/Macau. This is almost never accidental because we follow what the cards say. In this case, unused, issued by Macau Post with trilingual “Port Paye Macau” postage on the reverse. Captioned in Chinese, Portuguese, and English. Grade: 1

Lunar New Year of the Horse (2014) (Maximum Cards) (set of 5)
This is a set of five maximum cards, in a style similar to earlier years. “Ano Lunar do Cavalo”, captioned in Chinese and Portuguese, shows five different types of horse in the cycle. Only four of the five cards appear in our scan (no more room), but the fifth card is of an “earth” or pottery horse. Grade: 1

10th Aniversario do Centro Historico de Macau como Patrimonio Mundial (Maximum Cards) (set of 4)
From 2015, a set of four maximum cards, each with a different historical building. We have to hand it to Macau: though the city is nearly unrecognisable from just a few years ago, much of the development has concentrated in specific areas, and the historical buildings have generally been nicely preserved–befitting a UNESCO Heritage location. These cards bear Macau Post’s reference numbers BPL 183-186. Unused. Grade: 1

Ballad of Mulan (Maximum Cards) (Set of 4)
The 1998 US film derives from this legend, and Google yields this summary: “Fearful that her ailing father will be drafted into the Chinese military, Mulan takes his spot — though, as a girl living under a patriarchal regime, she is technically unqualified to serve. She cleverly impersonates a man and goes off to train with fellow recruits.” This set of four maximum cards reveals the “true” legend, a thousand years or so before the film. Grade: 1
