Kinderdijk
We spent a lot of time trying to get a card of Dutch dikes, and when we finally succeeded, it was mailed from Belgium. But this is Holland nonetheless, and the card (with Belgian stamp and postmark, and A Prior label) is in good condition apart from some postmark ink transfer on the front. Grade: 3

The caption on the reverse is in Dutch, identifying an 1898 book (on a modern card) from a former queen. Uncancelled stamp. Grade: 3

Produced in, and mailed from, the Netherlands even though–as the writer points out–this card is “a joke because weather is too wet and cold for such trees” there. Two stamps, no postmark. Grade: 4

Valkenburg, Geuldal
The stamp and primary postmark are on the front of the card. On the reverse, the printed attribution “J.H. Schaefer’s Kunstchromo, Amsterdam. 90/64” and if you can interpret this date inside the reverse postmark, you will know when the card was mailed: 12.7.15.8-9N. We think this means 1915 so please let us know if that’s not right. Grade: 2

With stamp and postmark on the front, it looks like this card may have been mailed in 1913 from Rotterdam. No promises on the date. Note that there is a small typed sticker with the number 10 pasted onto the front. We don’t know if this was added after the card was sent, or not. Grade: 3

Vuurtorens langs de Nederlandse kust
Four of these cards are available. The front legend translates as “Lighthouses along the Dutch coast” and so they are, all identified by name, date, and location on the reverse caption. These were mailed in 2011-12 with stamp and at least partial postmark. A must for any collection of lighthouse postcards. Two are Grade: 2 ($3) and two are Grade: 1 ($4).
