Wikipedia tells us that Museu da Inconfidência is a history museum dedicated to those who died in a failed rebellion movement Inconfidência Mineira for Brazilian independence from Portugal. It was established in 1938. It is located in Tiradentes Square in Ouro Preto in Minas Gerais in a former Jail. It was declared as a National Museum of Brazil in 1990. The unused card is newer than that, though. Grade: 1

Rio de Janeiro – GB – Hotel Gloria
The hotel you see here was built in 1922 and closed for renovation in 2009. Things went murky after that, and in 2014 there was a forced sale, but the property is to open again (as of this writing, anyway) in 2016 before the Rio Olympics under the management of Switzerland’s Acron. Time will tell; we won’t. The card was mailed in 1972 using a postage meter. (As irony, it was mailed to Switzerland.) Grade: 2
