The hotel seems still to be there, now also as a casino, but online reviews are not too encouraging. Imposing location, though. Unused Ediciones Impresora card No. 384, aged. Grade: 2
-
Montevideo, Parque Rodo y El Lago
Unused card, somewhat aged and, oddly, completely blank on the reverse. Grade: 1

We don’t know. Grade: 3

-
Punta del Este, Isla de Lobos

-
Recuerdo del Uruguay, Serie V (folio)
Open the paper cover as you see in the scan, and out folds a connected string of ten B&W photos showing important places in Montevideo, including: Parque Rodo, the Port, “La Carreta” monument, Pocitos Beach, and more. Each view has a caption in Spanish and English covering the reverse, so this was meant to be sent as a unit, or maybe just kept as a … recuerdo (remembrance). Unused, quite old, and assumed Grade: 2
-
Recuerdo del Uruguay, No. 4 (folio)
Similar structure to our entry 20212075, but different in several ways. The similarity is ten linked photos inside a paper cover. But these are coloured, and the only (short) captions are on the fronts of the photos. Technically we suppose each could be used as a postcard. One of the photos has a 2 cm tear on one side. Grade: 3

One can only imagine what this classic hotel went through to morph from its name on this unused card (Hotel Casino Carrasco) to its present name (Sofitel Montevideo Casino Carrasco & Spa). It gets very nice online reviews, though, apart from some mumbling about bathrooms not having doors? What’s that about? Grade: 1
