Auburn, Post Office
Caption lets us know this is the “Oldest Operating Post Office West of Missisipi (sic)” and that makes it special. Mailed in 2012 with $1.05 stamp and readable Sacramento postmark. Postal abrasions and a bit of postmark ink transfer on the front. Grade: 3

Los Angeles, Chinatown
Unused “Colourpicture” linen postcard K7507, not captioned other than what you see on the front, but the card was distributed by a firm in Sherman Oaks, California, so we know this scene is in Los Angeles. Well, we know anyway because we used to live there. Grade: 1
-
Los Angeles, Chinatown, Gin Ling Way
Curteichcolor card mailed in 1971 with 6-cent stamp and full postmark, and it shows “fantastic towers and pagodas”. Grade: 2

A California Watermelon
With a caption on the bottom of this Edward H. Mitchell card, mailed with stamp and postmark in 1907, there wasn’t much space for a message. Grade: 3
-

This time, the caption is on the top of the card, and there was room for a message on the back–and so it’s there, on a card mailed in 1908 with one-cent stamp and readable postmark. Grade: 3

Mailed in 2012 with $1.05 stamp, illegible postmark, and address label affixed. Grade: 3

Mount Shasta City, 1915 Ford T (Lulu Belle)
At least we *think* this is Lulu Belle. The caption doesn’t say so, and when we went to the search engines, they led us down quite a few blind alleys. Here’s hoping that Lulu Belle didn’t go down those alleys herself. Two of these unused cards are available. Grades: 1

San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, on United Airlines menu
“Those were the days, my friend, we thought they’d never end …” and as much as we would like to ramble on and on about what has happened to airline service, we won’t do that here. The card was mailed from Denver in 1954, with a 2-cent stamp and clear postmark. A bit of postmark ink transfer on the front. Grade: 2

San Francisco, Bay and Golden Gate Bridges
In November, 1941, one friend wrote to another on this linen card mailed in San Francisco with stamp and full postmark, whose injunction to “Buy Defense Savings Bonds and Stamps” looks ironic now considering what was to happen only two weeks later. Grade: 1

Anaheim, Disneyland, Monsanto Adventure thru Inner Space
A specialty item. Think of two postcards connected by their right/left edges respectively (except that only the one on the left is actually a postcard). Now imagine opening these two like a book, and seeing two pages in the middle with pictures and text describing Monsanto’s display. Unused, but over the years the connection between those two cards has separated by about 50% along the perforation. We’re doing our best to keep the rest intact. Grade: 3
-
Lake Tahoe (3D)
As with many cards having lenticular printing (the ridged plastic overlay), the photo on this card is different depending on your angle of vision. From one side it’s a daylight view; from another, it’s sunset. Nine cards are available. Eight are unused and clean apart from removal of the original price stickers on the reverse (Grades: 2, $3) while the other was mailed in 2012 with three stamps and readable postmark (Grade: 1, $6).
