  • Pikeville, swinging bridge

Odd that the caption on this unused Dexter Press card 18028-C doesn’t specifically identify the bridge, of which there seems to be more than one example near Pikeville.  Pauley?  Boldman?  Another?  The card’s aging (as must be the bridge) and Grade: 2

  • Canal Connecting Kentucky and Barkley Lakes

We’ve mentioned before that we have a fondness for “…est” postcards:  their captions describing the tallest, biggest, oldest, whatever.  So here’s an unused Dexter Press card 72307-D whose caption tells us that the “free-flowing canal … combines the two lakes (Kentucky Lake and Barkley Lake) into the world’s largest man-made body of water for recreational activities”.  Now that’s specific.  Wonder if it’s still true?  Grade: 1

    Code: 10118085

    Price: $3.00
