Gallatin Canyon, Taylor’s Peaks near Karst Ranch
Karst Ranch went through many wild iterations, but the name, at least, lives on in this mid-century unused Curteich-Chicago postcard 87829-N. Slight abrasions along the right edge. Grade: 2
-
Harding Way
We like the caption on this Curteich-Chicago linen card 5B-H1296 (C-2590) so we will repeat it here as yet another example of how so many postcards want their topic to be “…est” of all: “Highway No. 10 winds around the Rocky Mountains over the Continental Divide. Fifteen miles away, in the background, is the Richest Hill on Earth and a glimpse of Butte, Montana.” So there you have it. Unused. Grade: 1
-
Gallatin River
Unused, old, B&W real-photo postcard. Grade: 1
-
Bozeman, Mt. Baldy from Lindley Park
We are more familiar with the Mt. Baldy near Los Angeles, but there’s always room for one more. And here it is, on this unused, B&W, real-photo card. Grade: 1

-
Gallatin River at Squaw Creek
Unused black-and-white real photo postcard. The local Bozeman newspaper wrote this a few years ago: “It took a few years, but Squaw Creek finally has a new name. The stream in the Gallatin Range south of Bozeman now bears the official moniker of Storm Castle Creek, according to Jackie Riley, cartographer for the Gallatin National Forest.” Chaucer’s view that time and tide wait for no man holds especially true if you’re up the creek. Grade: 1
-
Spanish Peaks
An interesting caption on the front of this unused black-and-white real-photo card. We’ll repeat it here in case you can’t see it clearly: “The Spanish Peaks across 50 miles of Gallatin Valley (Infra Red Photo)”. Wish we knew the back story to this. Grade: 1
-

This is an unused, older, B&W, real photo card — and, no, we’re not going to double-list it under our “Native American” category. Grade: 1
-
Yellowstone National Park, Gardiner Canyon, Eagle (sic) Nest Rock
Unused real-photo B&W card, whose caption is on the reverse. More recent Google entries call this “Eagle’s Nest”. Grade: 1
-
Holy City, Cody Highway
One might argue that this unused item is not a postcard, since it measures 3-7/8″ x 4-7/8″ and only has a caption on the back with no other printing. But we come down on the side of “it could be a postcard” and so we are listing it. Either way, it’s very old. Grade: 1
