Crater Lake
Mailed in 1984 from Mineral, CA with full postmark and 40-cent Piper airmail stamp. Grade: 1
-
Bend, Highway Route 97
This card really should appeal to truckers, if for no other reason than it was mailed in Malaysia–not Oregon–in the 2000s with a stamp and partial postmark. Grade: 3

Unused Dexter Press card 18528-B, rounded corners, showing the reburial place of this chief and his friend, early pioneer F.D. McCulley. Grade: 3

Greetings from Portland
Allow us a little side comment here: we love this kind of card. The design 100% represents the typical card American families in the 40s and 50s were delighted to find in their mailbox, and they would chat with the postman about how much fun the neighbours were having. OK now, back to reality. This Curt Teich linen card 2B-H1157 (and 702) was mailed in 1947 with stamp and full postmark. All those places embedded in the letters are identified in the reverse caption. Grade: 2

-
Columbia River Gorge, Crown Point, on United Airlines menu
Mailed in 1952, with 2-cent stamp and full Pasadena postmark. We looked at this menu, and thought … yes, that sounds good, but right down to the Dinner Mint, none of it is anywhere around here. Grade: 2
-
Heceta Head
Unused Mike Roberts card C636, aging. Unusually for this location, the focus is on the inlet and not on the lighthouse. Grade: 2
-

Heceta Head (Union Oil No. 65)
Over the years, Union Oil Company of California issued a series of cards (“See the Old West this year with 76 Gasoline”) (the slogan varies over time) depicting western U.S.A. landmarks. This card, dated 1941, is one of those. We have two of these. One was mailed in 1943 with 1-cent stamp and Cottage Grove, Oregon, postmark–and a message that so totally resonates with us as we have read (or tried to read) thousands of similar messages from eras past (Grade: 1, $7). The other is unused and with a minor smudge on the reverse (Grade: 2, $5).
-
Oregon Lighthouses
Unused card whose caption on the reverse identifies all eight of the pictured lighthouses. The card has heavy creasing, not really damaging but very visible, horizontally across the top edge. Grade: 3
