Totally different circumstances from the other Knoxville World’s Fair card we’ve listed (10143004), this one is also special because it’s 20-cent stamped, maximum-card style but on the reverse, with an Oct. 3, 1982 World’s Fair postmark. Otherwise unused. If you’re a collector of World’s Fair postcards, this one should qualify well for you. Grade: 1

Gatlinburg Country Club Golf Course
Now appearing in the city of Gatlinburg’s own website as “Gatlinburg Golf Course,” that site goes on to say “The Gatlinburg Golf Course features some of the most fun and challenging holes around. Play our legendary #12, affectionately known as “Sky Hi.” It’s 194 yards in length and drops 200 feet, from tee to green, making it one of the most dramatic holes in the country.” That’s what you see on this unused card, and we have no reason not to believe their claim. This facility now seems to have a variety of names, of which one (from the National Park Service) is “Ochs Museum and Observatory. Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park.” Regardless, the location is spectacular even if this unmailed postcard is not: faded and creased on the front, and badly stained on the reverse. The caption is legible but this is not a high-quality postcard. Grade: 5
