Bambule Lounge, events (Washington, DC)
What you see in the scan is one event; the other side of the card, a different event but similar design, from 2009. As we often do, we checked to see if we could get more information about the lounge. The word “Bambule” has odd connotations to start, and German speakers must have wondered. But this place closed in, probably, 2011. Grade: 1

Probably late in 1917, an American company called J.L. Brown sent this (unused, unmailed) card to its customers with a message fully taking up that area, inviting the customer to come in for the full year’s 1918 calendar as a gift. We’ve no idea what kind of company it was, or even where; but if we did, we would be tempted to try — even now. Grade: 1

McAlester, Cassada Clothing, May 1912 calendar (Oklahoma, USA)
Cassada actually lives on as a clothing brand name, online at least, though the McAlester store itself is long gone. Its memory survives in this brilliant, ancient ad card whose calendar is unfortunately positioned behind a field of flowers. Mailed in May of 1912 with stamp and complete postmark, this is about as good as advertising postcards get. Grade: 1
-
Eye-Catching (Hong Kong)
Unused cards advertising for postcard advertising. Three are available. Grades: 1
