ALKOHOL? Kenn dein Limit (Germany)
Despite the fun they seem to be having (if you don’t speak German), Google tranlates the text as: “Alcohol? Characteristic your limit. Alcohol makes more damage than you think.” The translation might not be perfect, but the point is made on this ad card mailed in 2013 with coloured meter label. The card is significantly creased. Grade: 1
-

“Schade” means “Pity” in German, and this card just goes to prove you don’t need to drink to have a road accident. Mailed from Austria in 2014, with two stamps and indistinct postmark. Grade: 1
-

To repeat, this is not a postcard. It’s a drink coaster. We toss it in here because it’s the right size, and in good condition, and just because we have it. Seems unused, mild aging. If it was a postcard we would assign Grade: 1.
-
San Bernardino Cervezeria (Paraguay)
Once in awhile we do a search to see if we can find other examples of unusual old cards online. This one was complicated. So we will just go with our instinct. It’s unused, and–as you see in the scan–four cut corners. Dated 1904 in the printed caption of the undivided back. There’s a pencilled word on the reverse but we can’t make it out. Having said all that, it is as you see it. Grade: 5

Rock City Gardens, Lookout Mountain (Georgia, USA)
It’s funny about postcards from here. They are all quite cagey about which state this attraction is in. Even Google is not much help, calling it “Chattanooga’s Iconic Tourist Attraction” (Tennessee) yet giving the address as Georgia. We sort of understand why this is, and will randomly assign whatever cards we get to whichever state comes to mind first. This is unused “ShiniColor” card SK3904. Why Alcohol? Look for the moonshine. Grade: 1
-

Mailed in 2013 with three stamps, trilingual Priority label, and a long explanation from the sender about how the manufacturer and advertisers for Früh played with the language to create this slogan. Grade: 2
