Our estimate from the incomplete postmark is that this card was mailed in 1917.  Otherwise, an ancient view on an ancient postcard.  Grade: 1

Undivided back card, with stamp and postmark suggesting either 1903 or 1905.  The handwriting on the back (i.e., the address) is unlikely to be seen very much again in the future!  Grade: 3

We’re not able to determine when this card was mailed.  Stamp, and indistinct postmarks on both sides.  Actually the postmark on the reverse is clear but they didn’t include the year.  Grade: 2

You could ask — as we initially did — why only 19 cards in the set, of course one must be missing.  But not so.  This is deliberate, because the set was issued in 2017 for the XIX International Botanical Congress.  And what a set it is:  unused, postage pre-printed 4″ x 7-1/2″ cards with impressive views of modern day Shenzhen’s various attractions.  The scan for this entry 32600442A shows the sort of vinylized cover and one of the cards.  Scans B and C show other cards for different categories, including Shenzhen Bay Bridge.  Disclosure:  we live right across the border from Shenzhen and didn’t know half of these places existed.  Two sets are available.  Grades: 1

Unused Selithco postcard 1620, typical of the type of card nice to have as a reference for visual changes over time.  This one–showing the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, the Embarcadero, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Alcatraz–somehow makes San Francisco look like some vague port city somewhere.  Grade: 1

Gorica Bridge over the Osum river is a landmark in the city of Berat. It is one of the oldest and most popular Ottoman bridges in Albania. It connects two parts of Berat, was originally built from wood in 1780 and was rebuilt with stone in the 1920s.  This bridge postcard is unused and dates most likely from the late 1980s or early 1990s.  Grade: 1
