-
Las Vegas Sahara, Eve Arden
This unused 5″ x 8″ card, in virtually as-new condition, should appeal to anyone wanting to re-create the “old” Las Vegas feel. And with Our Miss Brooks gazing right out at you…maybe you just have to be of a certain age. Grade: 1
-
Las Vegas Dunes, Eleanor Powell
Appearing with Gary Morton at the Las Vegas Dunes, this famous entertainer of her era is right here for you again on a 5-1/2″ x 7″ card (actually two cards are available) from the 1960s, with all booking information printed on reverse. Great condition. Grade: 1
-
Las Vegas Dunes, Zsa Zsa Gabor
The Dunes may be long gone, but Ms Gabor as of this writing is still with us on this Jumbo card (5-1/2″ x 7″) (two are available) from 1960s, with booking information on reverse. Grade: 1
-
Dunes Hotel, Burns and Channing (Las Vegas)
The George Burns and Carol Channing Show with The Four Preps at the Las Vegas Dunes Hotel in the 1960s. Two unused (5-3/8″ x 7″) cards are available, from this long-gone hotel. Grade: 1
-
Riviera Hotel, Lionel Hampton (Las Vegas)
This somewhat oversized (4″ x 7″) unused card from the 1960s is a little smudged on both sides but definitely a prize catch for Hampton collectors. Grade: 2
-
Riviera Hotel, Ginger Rogers (Las Vegas)
Slightly oversized (4″ x 7″) card from the early 1960s, showing Miss Rogers in her “premiere Las Vegas cafe appearance.” The card is aging and has a travel agent’s rubber stamp on the reverse but if you’re a collector of Las Vegas, or any of the glitz associated with Vegas, this one’s for you. Grade: 4
-
Circus Circus (Las Vegas)
Nice unused Circus Circus casino card, cheaper than a hand of blackjack. Grade: 1
-
Genting Highlands (Malaysia)
Malaysia’s most famous (and only) legal casino complex. Card was mailed in 1991, has Pulau Pinang stamp but illegible postmark. Tiny ink smudge on one front margin. Grade: 2
-
Downtown arch, Reno (Nevada)
Unused Travel Series card R-102 from 1987. Grade: 1
-
Boulder Club (Las Vegas)
Las Vegas has more lives than a cat. But not the Boulder Club, which one Google citation tells us operated from 1931 to 1960 despite a large fire in 1956. The caption on the back says “We never close.” Not so. Grade: 2
-
Barney’s Casino, Lake Tahoe (Nevada, USA)
Barney’s may have been absorbed into something else by now, but his cards live on. We have five of these, unused, as-new. By the way, Barney’s was on the south shore of Lake Tahoe. We’re not certain where “Northern Nevada’s largest slot machine” may be now, however. Grades: 1
-
Golden Nugget (Las Vegas)
Many Golden Nugget cards look the same, but this one is this one. Unused and atypically unnumbered H.S. Crocker card from the 1950s, probably. Grade: 2
-
Macao Palace Casino
Macau’s transformation now is astonishing and this card will be one of the permanent records. Four of these are available–identical condition, unused, from 1970s. They show mild aging but are in generally fine shape. Grades: 1
-
Johore Gambling Farm (Malaysia)
What secrets lie behind this quiet facade? Unused card ca. early 1900s from Continental Stamp Co. (#1008), had been in album and has diagonal corner indents, also upper left front corner abrasion. Reverse is unmarked. It’s a famous card, well worthy of being in any collection having a gambling theme. Grade: 2
-
Nevada Club, Las Vegas (not a postcard)
This is not a postcard. It measures 2.25″ x 3.5″ (like a business card), has rounded edges, and on the back contains a map to find the casino, a rubber stamp from the motel that passed the card out, and another rubber stamp saying “three free souvenirs.” Not sure if that offer is still valid now, but the little item is very nice. Grade: 1
-
Golden Nugget gambling hall (Las Vegas)
Unused Plastichrome card P15753. Grade: 1
-
Golden Nugget (Las Vegas)
Several of these Golden Nugget cards look alike. This is Plastichrome card P15754, unused. Grade: 1
-
Horseshoe Club (Las Vegas)
Two are available, probably late 1950s or early 1960s. One is unused (Grade: 1, $2) and the other is unmailed but with an inked notation on the reverse (Grade: 4, $0.50).
-
The Mint (Las Vegas)
“Spectacular new Club on Fremont Street” should suggest how old this unused card is. Great condition. Grade: 1
-
Walker Hill Hotels & Casino, Seoul
Unused card. Grade: 1
-
Walker-Hill Hotels & Casino, Seoul
Unused card showing the “Jang-Gu” Korean traditional dance with Walker Hill in the background. The only reference to the casino is on the front at the bottom. Grade: 1
-
Le Casino (Monaco)
Unused card with multiple thumbtack holes. Grade: 4
-
Casino Municipale, Venice (Italy)
Unused card. Grade: 2
-
Casino Municipale (sede invernale), Venice (Italy)
Mailed in 1967, the card has a stamp, most of a Venice postmark, and a tape stain on the reverse. Grade: 3
-
Sands Casino, Macau (in set)
Of all the casinos in Macau, they chose this one to be included in a set of ten unused cards. There is nothing wrong with the Sands. It is as much a “Beauty Spot” as the others. We would just be curious how this one made the cut–so to speak. NOTE that the casino is on just one of the ten cards. Two sets are available. Grades: 1
-
Lisboa Casinos (Macau)
Within this folio of ten unused cards, one shows the new and the old Lisboa Casinos adjacent to each other, as they are in real life. The cost of this folio is roughly the same as that of betting on two hands of blackjack in those casinos, but you probably will have better luck if you put your money here, not there. Grade: 1
-
Multiple casino scenes, Macau (folio)
This folio of 12 unused cards shows a majority of dusk or night scenes, and some might say this is when Macau with its many casinos and restored city centre looks its best. Four of the cards in this folio show casinos, but NOTE: you are buying the entire folio. Grade: 1
-
Atlantic City, Tropicana Casino and Resort (New Jersey)
Mailed in 2011, full Florida postmark and three different stamps. Minor abrasion on lower right front corner. Grade: 2
-
Le Casino et Jardins – Les Boulingvins. (Monte-Carlo)
Giletta card, mailed from Monaco with stamp and two postmarks that are clear enough but which do not reveal the date clearly. Very minor edge abrasions. Grade: 2
-
Flamingo, Las Vegas
A card for many categories, mailed in 1974 with stamp and postmark. The writer was having a great time, clearly. The irony is that the card’s recipient could have been right there with them. A bit of postal battering, nothing major. Grade: 3
-
Hyeres, Le Casino (France)
Unused La Cigogne card 852, with one perforated edge indicating that it had been part of a set. Grade: 3
-
Le Casino de Monte-Carlo – Trente and Quarante room (Monaco)
Old, unused Selecta card no. 52. Grade: 2
-
Dragonara Palace Casino (Malta)
Unused Max Printing Press card in fine shape except that the bottom edge looks like it has been slightly trimmed. No obvious reason for that, or whether the card was just cut that way in the first place. Even so, we must downgrade it for that. Grade: 4
-
Bad (Kylpyla) Hotel Casino (Finland)
Confusing captions but definitely mailed from Finland in 2011 with Aurora borealis stamp, and Priority and address labels affixed. We know the card’s front says “Greetings from Savonlinna”, while the Finnish and English captions on the reverse say something else. Grade: 3
-
Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas
Mailed in 2011 with stamp but unreadable partial postmark. Grade: 1
-
The Venetian at night (Macau)
One of, if not the world’s largest casino/resort hotel complex. Unused 5″ x 7″ card. Grade: 1
-
Lisboa Hotel and casinos (Macau)
Unless you know Macau, you might not know that the original Lisboa hotel (1970) and casino are on the right, and the new facility (2008) is in the middle. For many years, the Lisboa was Macau’s pre-eminent casino complex. Not now, but still impressive. Grade: 1
-
Praia Grande at night (Macau)
This photo has at least three casinos and hotels in it, including the Wynn, and the old and new Lisboas. Unused 5″ x 7″ card. Grade: 1
-
Riverton Park Casino, Portland (Maine, USA)
Not postally used, the original owner noted on the reverse: “I was here, Aug 1916.” (That was convenient for us!) Grade: 3
-
Limited Edition set of 10 postcards – Set B (Marina Bay Sands, Singapore)
The scan shows you, albeit very small, the contents of this set–unopened, in its original cellophane wrap. At least one card portrays Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands. Grade: 1
