Issued by Canada Post in 2012 for Chinese New Year, with explanations and a pre-printed dragon stamp, almost but not quite making this a Maximum Card. Card measures 4-3/4″ x 6-5/8″. Mailed in 2012, with partial postmark. Edge abrasion. Grade: 3

Christmas bells
Mailed from USA to Hong Kong and then forwarded to Malaysia in 1984. The card itself is not unusual except for (A) the full Delaware postmark on the front, and (B) the addition of another Hong Kong stamp, and therefore a Hong Kong postmark, to get the card safely to Malaysia. But now it’s back in Hong Kong. How International. Grade: 4

This card was originally mailed from Belgium in 1930. The stamp and postmark are still there, but many years later a new message went in over that and the card was sent in an envelope. So it has two separate messages and therefore must be Grade: 4

Though the card appars to have been produced in Russia, it is international in character and was most certainly posted in Belarus with four stamps, two full and heavy postmarks, and the “prioritaire” rubber stamp. The card has serrated edges, glitter, and classic holiday appeal. Grade: 1

This card was mailed in 2010 and is so easy and pleasant to look at, one of those that sort of makes you want to be in the scene somewhere. Or at least in the cabin. One appropriate “Santa” stamp plus two others, and full Kuopio postmark. Grade: 1
