Daddy, where are we going? (set of 30) – front cover + 1 card (PR China)
As far as we can tell, “Daddy, where are we going?” began as a reality TV show in Korea (MBC) and became popular in China too, on Hunan TV. Here’s a set of 30 unused cards, extra-long to incorporate detachable stubs as you can see in the photo. See also entry 30500127B. Grade: 1

Cape Cod, Radio Station WOCB (Massachusetts, USA)
Here’s an abbreviated Wikipedia entry: “WOCB first signed on as an AM station October 2, 1940; the station was originally owned by the Cape Cod Broadcasting Company. It originally operated at 1210 kHz, but moved to 1240 in 1941. WOCB shut down in May 1943 after running out of money, resulting in its license being canceled by the FCC on November 30.” Basically, it’s now WXTK. As for the postcard, it’s Tichnor 76250, not postally used but the writer filled the reverse with a message that may have been sent in an envelope. Grade: 4

Promised Land
This American film with Matt Damon came out in 2012 and the ad found its way onto a card in South Korea. This is a classic case of an ad card that’s not really a postcard but was turned into one, as it was mailed in 2014 with two stamps, postmark, and address label. Grade: 4

Mailed in 2014, with three different Harry Potter stamps overlapping an official Airmail label. The postmark is there, but hidden in all that. Postmark ink transfer on the front. Grade: 3

The other was mailed from the site, with a Hobbit stamp and Middle Earth postmark (Grade: 1, $8).

From a series of ad cards collected in Los Angeles in 2017 … technically not postcards, we suppose, as most are fully printed on both sides and couldn’t be mailed the conventional way (except that this one does have enough blank area for an address and stamp). But they are the right size and shape, and uniformly eye-catching. Grade: 1

Unused official World’s Fair card, unused, serrated edges, and with a caption explaining that the movie theater inside had an exhibit “telling the story of how portability and mobility have served man’s needs from the beginning of time” (!) There’s a lot more to the caption, too. Grade: 1

Avenue of the Stars (Hong Kong)
From a series of unused cards that don’t have captions. Because we live here in Hong Kong, we have filled in some of the gaps to let you know where the pictures were taken. This abuts the waterfront near the Star ferry terminus in Kowloon. If you’re not familiar, think of Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles–on a much smaller scale. Grade: 1
