We went to Google, expecting to find the routine history of an old bull ring. We found that, but what’s more interesting is the current status. Have a look … this unused 4-1/2″ x 6-3/4″ card is aging and with minor spotting on the reverse. Grade: 2

Sunnyrest Sanitorium, Crookston (Minnesota, USA)
Indulge us here. We have all manner of mixed feelings about Crookston, none of which have to do with this facility that cared for tuberculosis patients from 1916 until 1967. (If you really want to know why we are Conflicted about Crookston, ask us!) The linen card was not postally mailed but has a message written into the message area. Grade: 4

This flag was used at the Battle of Bennington in 1777 and if the card’s caption is still correct, is now at the Bennington Historical Museum. We’ve not checked. Unused card. Grade: 1

In 1981, the Brazilian President visited Peru, commemorated by this unused card (serial no. 009381) that would be a Maximum Card except that the postmarked stamp is on the reverse. Aging postcard. Grade: 2

Unused, really very old ad/trade card pubished by Pacific Novelty Co. If you Google this, you’ll see an impressive variety of similar cards with a wide range of possible dates and descriptions, ranging from 1870 (definitely not) to late 1920’s (probably not then, either). Most likely, +/- 100 years ago, and our card is generally cheaper than the others anyway. Grade: 2

Fine Arts Works (Maximum Cards) (Set of 4) (DPR Korea)
From 2016, a set of four Maximum Cards issued as part of a stamp series called “Fine Arts Works,” and we have a rare chance to give you official translations of the text, as part of the Government’s description of the series: “Poster stamps were issued to reflect the struggle of the Korean people … (A) “Keep the revolutionary faith to the death!” (B) “Let us land a huge haul by emulating the working spirit of the Korean People’s Army which created a new history of golden sea!” (C) “Let us fly higher the flag of the Republic at international games!” and (D) “Let us rapidly develop all sectors by dint of science and technology!” Though the postmarks don’t show clearly, they are there, and these are genuine Maximum Cards in the truest sense. Grade: 1
