Mannheim an Rhein und Neckar
From 2010, some abrasion on front right; on the reverse, a stamp and full postmark, along with two butterfly stickers. Grade: 4
-
Philippine (Netherlands)
If there can be a Paris, Texas; or a London, Ontario; then why not a Philippine, Netherlands? Mailed in 2010 from Rotterdam with Priority stamp and mostly legible postmark. Some smudging on the front. Grade: 3
-
Hamilton, Ontario (Canada)
Card was mailed, with three different (and large) stamps, but no postmark. Blue bilingual airmail label affixed. Grade: 3
-
Bamberg (Germany)
Nice card, which both the writer and the postmark identify Bamberg as a member of the UNESCO World heritage list. One stamp, full postmark, Bilingual Luftpost sticker, and one small other one that we are tempted to peel off, but that would be cheating. Grade: 4
-
Greetings from Whitewater (Wisconsin, USA)
This is a very nice card in some ways and almost nice in others. It’s like an operational definition of “irony”: the stamp is there, and so is the postmark — but without a date (easily the early 1900s). There’s a long message but it makes no sense to us. Something like that. Grade: 1
-
Hampshire (England)
Sixteen views, one stamp, one bilingual blue airmail sticker, one affixed address lable, one line of orange barcoding, one corner crease, and no postmark. All of this adds up to Grade: 4.
-
Groeten uit Lommel
We like cards of this nature very much because they fit into so many categories: national, windmill, statue, greetings … and also because of the two colourful stamps and full postmark, together with the Priority label and address sticker affixed. An all-around card to be sure. Grade: 2
-
Greetins vrum dere ol’ Deb’n (England)
We guess you have to be born into it. Card mailed in 2012 though the stamp is cancelled by an inked line through it. Grade: 4
-
Greetings from Indonesia!
Terrific contemporary card, mailed in 2010 with three large stamps, postmarked, and just a touch of postmark smudging on the front. Grade: 2
-
Pozdrowienia z Lodzi (Poland)
One of the best of our Polish “Greetings from …” postcards. This one was mailed in 2012, three nice different stamps (including one of a very intense-looking cat), and bilingual Priorytet label affixed. Two postmarks. Grade: 1
-
Saluti da Napoli (Italy)
Card was mailed in 2010 but the 0.85 Euro stamp is uncancelled, so if you buy the card and re-use the stamp, it’s basically free. Yes, we know, you should not do that and we do not recommend it. Upper right corner is a bit crumbled. Grade: 4
-
Greetings from California
Mailed in 2012 with four different stamps–two of which are Washington’s Tidal Basin connected–along with one extra sticker, illegible postmark, and a crease through the middle. Grade: 4

Would be a great, mailed card but for an abrasion on the bottom caused by the cancellation machine, not an uncommon problem on Malaysian postcards. Grade: 3
-

-

No, this wasn’t a typical residence then, and it’s not now, either. Greetings anyway! Unused card, Grade: 1
-
Castle Rock, Colorado
Can’t get much more down home than this, especially considering the possibility of an ocean beach in Colorado. Russ wasn’t worried about that, and neither are we. Unused Laff Gram card R-24. Grade: 1
-

Unused Lusterchrome card (Tichnor K-2495) with erasures on reverse. Grade: 3
-

Unused Lusterchrome (Tichnor) card K-11799 with this aerial view of downtown Indianapolis. Grade: 3

-
Maine lobster
Unused but aged Dexter Press card 11763-C (M-1016), serrated edges. Think “Jaws,” but with a lobster instead of a shark. Grade: 3
-

Unused Dexter Press card DR-30036-B. Grade: 1
-

-
Hi from Llano, Texas
This unused View-Gram card C-17677 fits into several categories. Though we might not have used “Hi” on a card that commemorates death and destruction, we shouldn’t judge. These are World Wars I and II Memorials. Grade: 1
-
