The Peak Hotel (Hong Kong)
So hard to believe such a structure existed, but here’s proof. If you’re up on the Peak now, you wonder where it was. Published by Yee Wo Shing, certainly before the 1938 fire that destroyed the hotel, this unused card has aged normally and has minor abrasions along the edges. Excellent condition for its age. Grade: 1

Queen’s Hotel, Kandy (Ceylon)
Edges are abraded, but card was never used and is otherwise unmarked despite looking a bit “old.” Grade: 4

Eremo Hotel, Mt. Vesuvius (Italy)
Just a beautiful evening view, made even more desirable through addition of a large postmark from Eremo on the upper front though the card itself is unmailed. Minor abrasions on edges and corners do not detract in any way from this really nice and exotic item, and if we had a category for “awesome postcards” this would be right at the top. Grade: 1

Other than normal aging and really minor abrasion on two lower corners, this card is in great condition. Never mailed. Published by Denniston’s. Grade: 2

Queen’s Hotel (Townsville, Australia)
Superb condition for a card from early 1900s, never mailed. Had been in an album, but effects of that are barely visible. Grade: 1

Tanjong Katong, Sea View Hotel (Singapore)
This card has seen hard times. Front has significant edge abrasions and corner creasing. Card was mailed to Formosa in 1914; postmark is intact but stamp is missing. Message is in Japanese. Grade: 4

Hyatt Regency (Singapore)
Totally, five of these 4-5/8″ x 6-5/8″ Singapore postcards are available. Three are unused: two are Grade 2 ($2) and one is Grade 1 ($3). Another was mailed from Singapore in 1992 with three different stamps and two partial postmarks, heavily smudged and handled (Grade: 3, $4). Finally, one more, mailed in 1992 with four different stamps, and two postmarks (Grade: 2, $8).

Kuala Lumpur Hilton (Malaysia)
This stopped being a Hilton Hotel many years ago. Two cards are available, not to be confused with others very similar. Both were mailed in 1986. One has upper left corner crease and some postmark smudging on front; stamp and nearly full postmark on aging reverse (Grade: 3, $5). One has major postmark ink on front and back, with a stamp but illegible postmark (Grade: 4, $3).

Merlin Beach Hotel, Desaru (Malaysia)
Two cards of the resort hotel in Johor were mailed in 1991. One has Melaka stamp and mostly readable postmark (Grade: 2, $4) and the other has a Pahang stamp but illegible postmark (Grade: 2, $3.50).

The other was mailed in early 1990s, is 4-3/4″ x 6″, has commemorative stamp but no legible postmark, and edge and corner battering (Grade: 3, $3.50).
