This busy but unused B&W card 30 comes from European Post Card Co. of Montreal. Some staining on both sides, but it’s a very old postcard. Grade: 3

Holiday Inn, Freeport (Bahamas)
For hardcore Holiday Inn postcard collectors, this card was mailed in 1972 and the stamp is there, but multiple postmarks and parts of postmarks have made a mess on both sides, and there are abrasions. Nevertheless, if this is the last of the properties you need … here it is! Grade: 4

Measuring 3-3/4″ x 8-1/4″, this card helps commemorate 150 years of Vladivostok and was mailed with three stamps and two postmarks in 2011. Grade: 2

This 4″ x 7-7/8″ card was mailed from Minsk in 2011 with stamp, full and clear postmark, and bilingual Prioritaire imprint. Grade: 1

Mailed in 1912 with stamp and full “World’s Panama Pacific Exposition 1915” postmark. Edge abrasions. Grade: 2

Royal Hotel, formerly Old St. Louis (New Orleans)
Unused Acmegraph Co. card 4980, explaining that the building dates from 1835 and simultaneously was the gathering place for the society of the city as well as holding a Slave Block. Grade: 2

Miyako Hotel, Kyoto (Japan)
Two of these cards are available, differing only in the colour of the lettering on the front. One is dark brown, the other is golden. Either way, we did some searching and were not able to determine whether this is the same as what is now the New Miyako Westin; if it is, Kyoto has certainly grown. Since the Westin is said to be 200+ years old (in prior incarnations), it may well be the same. Anyway … our two cards are unused, very old, and Grades: 2

Confusing captions but definitely mailed from Finland in 2011 with Aurora borealis stamp, and Priority and address labels affixed. We know the card’s front says “Greetings from Savonlinna”, while the Finnish and English captions on the reverse say something else. Grade: 3

Lisboa Hotel (Macau)
Unless you know Macau, you might not know that the original Lisboa hotel (1970) and casino are on the right, and the new facility (2008) is in the middle. For many years, the Lisboa was Macau’s pre-eminent casino complex. Not now, but still impressive. Grade: 1
