Hotel Saint-George – The Garden
Have you any idea how many different hotels there are with this name? Any good search engine will give you a clue. The problem with this unused B&W vintage postcard is that there’s no caption. But we have clues. First, the instructions on how to write a message are in French. Second, the card came along with a batch from French Guiana. So we will just tell you it’s aging and a bit smudged on the reverse. Grade: 2
-
El Rancho Motel, Lewiston (Idaho, USA)
In a society where every raindop gets an online review, we thought we would see how this motel is doing. If you were to go to Google and search, you would come out of it wondering if they are still in business or not. Thoroughly confusing, but, either way, the card is here. Unused, but heavily creased and some staining on the reverse. Grade: 4
-
Banff National Park, Banff Springs Hotel (Canada)

-
Treasure Island Beach Lodge, Daytona Beach Shores (Florida)
When this card was mailed in 1975 (stamp and postmark are there), this property might have been something special. Our quick Google search shows that it turned into an “eyesore” and a debate was going on about what to do with the long-closed place. Grade: 1

Unused C.T. Art-Colortone card 0B-H362. When this vintage postcard was printed, it must have been a decent place. Our Google search turned up later reviews that made it sound like Hell on Earth. -
La Salle Hotel, Chicago (USA)
We promised to tell the stories. First, this card was mailed in 1909, with stamp and postmark. 1909 happens to be the year the La Salle, one of Chicago’s premier hotels, opened.
