-
Bowers Resort (Camdenton, Missouri)
Google isn’t much help on this, making it look like the resort has turned into a Boy Scout camp. If that’s the case, then good for everyone. Unused card from the 1950s, and apart from really minor abrasion on the front, it could be as-new today. Grade: 1
-
The Motts Motel (Warsaw, Missouri)
The photo goes wayyyyyyyy back, and the card is from the 1950s, unused but with two features on the reverse: a travel agency rubber stamp, and another rubber stamp with the then-current name of the motel (Motts) over the originally printed name (White Branch Resort Motel). They could not possibly have made the place look bleaker. Grade: 4

-
The Sands (Las Vegas)
Opened in 1958, The Sands was once owned by the legendary Howard Hughes. And it didn’t look like this card for long. This building, and the hotel, are long gone (replaced by the Venetian?) but the company is still very much there. Two unused cards are available, from the early 1960s. Grades: 1
-
Frontier Hotel, Las Vegas

-
Pleasant Acres Court (Tomah, Wisconsin)
Google says this motel is still there. We hope it looks different now, because, honestly and with no malice at all, this has to be one of the bleakest postcards ever made. Two of these unmailed cards are available, identical conditions. Each has an X over the room the writer used, and the reverse has the dates of stay (in 1957) along with a travel agency rubber stamp. Just out of principle we give this a low grade but if you buy the card you will have a great addition to your collection of most unappealing views. Grades: 5
