MGM Grand Hotel, Las Vegas
Mailed in the 1970s with a 10-cent stamp and partial postmark, this card has serrated edges and assorted creases. Technically it’s not in very good shape but if you are collecting marquee signs, this is a good one. Grade: 4

Prudhomme’s Garden Centre Motor Hotel (Ontario)
Somehow this photo makes the motel look like one of the largest compounds in the world. We doubt that’s the case, though. Two unused cards are available. One is Grade: 2 ($1.50) and the other is Grade: 3 ($1.00).

Invitation Inn, Edgewood (Maryland, USA)
This unused 3.5″ x 8.7″ card has survived years of handling with only minor corner creases and if you buy it we will do our best to be certain it doesn’t get any worse. Grade: 2

Heritage Motor Hotel (Taber, Alberta, Canada)
This 3.5″ x 8.75″ card is unused. The caption contains an unusual statement: “In the heart of the irrigation in the land of the lo-o-ong sun.” And the upper edge is perforated. Grade: 1

Harley Hotel of Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania)
Two of these unused cards are available. The reverse caption says “We’re going to be your favorite hotel,” and for all we know it’s a great place to stay (or was), but the card itself is devoid of people and makes the place look as bleak as a prison camp. By now they must have sorted that out. One would hope. Grades: 1

The only attribution to West Virginia is the publisher (Paige Creations) but we Googled, and this is where we think it belongs. Unused card with abrasion smudging all across the reverse. Grade: 3

Old West Motel, Las Vegas (Nevada)
Should be a companion card to the other one we have of the same motel many years later. This unused linen card has aged significantly and has a fading stain in the address area, but if you are into before-and-after views, this is perfect for you. Grade: 4

Three unused cards are available. They have serrated edges. One is Grade: 1 ($1.50) and the other two are Grades: 2 ($1).

Hotel Statler, Buffalo (New York)
This card has held up well over the years. Mailed in 1916 with a full postmark, one-cent stamp, and poignant message, it is excellent for its age. Grade: 1

Unmailed card, though it has some numbers inked into the message area. Grade: 4

This card has a 9-cent stamp, full 1976 postmark, and a small rip in the upper edge. Grade: 4

Sugar Loaf Lodge (Florida)
Maybe the greater value of this card is the full and very large postmark, over the 5-cent stamp. Sugar Loaf Shores. It sounds really exotic, from where we’re sitting. There is some abrasion on the front. Grade: 4

Holiday Inns did (or do) use generic postcards and we have different versions, but no other exactly like this so we aren’t certain if it is generic or specific to this property. In any case the Washington inn’s details are on the reverse of the unused card. Grade: 2
