-
Brant Point Light (Nantucket)
Unmailed linen card showing this old lighthouse and the skyline of Nantucket. It’s Tichnor card 75313, never mailed but it was folded in half and also has a travel agency rubber stamp on the reverse. Best use for this card would be framed along with other lighthouse cards. Grade: 4
-
Georges Island, Ranges Light (Boston)
One of our nicest lighthouse cards, yet if you Google this you will see the card, the scene, and the description have controversy attached. No matter, it’s a great card–unmailed but with an extensive long-ago message on the reverse. Reichner Brothers card 1284, made in Germany. Grade: 4 -
Port Dickson (Malaysia)
Rare addition for collectors of lighthouse cards, and yes, Malaysia has more than one. Here there are three cards available, mailed in 1991, one with full postmark (Grade: 1, $6) and two with partial marks (Grades: 2, $5.50).
-
Kuala Selangor (Malaysia)
Allow some reminiscing. It used to be a terrific Sunday drive through rural areas to reach this lighthouse, see all the monkeys, and eat in the local “gerai makan.” No doubt the lighthouse is still there but we doubt the experience would be the same. This card was mailed in 1991 with a Negeri Sembilan stamp and full postmark, and will be a wonderful addition to anyone’s collection of lighthouse postcards. Grade: 1
-
Praia Grande and Guia Lighthouse (Macau)
This panoramic view is no more. Unused card from the 1970s. Grade: 1
-

Guia Fortress lighthouse, World Cultural Heritage, Macau (folio)
Hard-to-find folio, in original shrink-wrap, of 25 unused cards showing key attractions of this small Special Administrative Region. Grade: 1
-
Guia Lighthouse (Macau) (in folio)
This folio of 12 unused cards shows a majority of dusk or night scenes, and some might say this is when Macau with its many casinos and restored city centre looks its best. But the lighthouse was snapped during daytime. NOTE that it only appears on one card, but you are buying the entire folio. Grade: 1
-
Guia Lighthouse (Macau) (folio)
One of the cards included in this unused folio of ten cards shows Macau’s famous Guia Lighthouse. But you will be getting all ten cards. Grade: 1

Superb lighthouse card, explained not only in the printed caption but also by the writer in the message. The card was mailed in 2011 with two stamps and two postmarks. Grade: 1
-
St. Pierre et Miquelon
Not specifically identified on the card, this is most likely the Pointe aux Canons Lighthouse since St. Pierre & Miquelon doesn’t have that many and they all look different. Now this card was mailed from nearby Canada in 2022 with three uncancelled stamps. For that reason, Grade: 4
-
Morris Island Lighthouse, Charleston (South Carolina, USA)
Mailed in 2011, this card has a $1 stamp and the new unreadable postmark. Minor postal creasing. Grade: 3
-
Battery Point Lighthouse, California
Mailed in 2011 with 98-cent stamp and mostly legible postmark. Grade: 2
-

If we get about 18 more cards with lips like these, we’ll open a new category. Until then, we just make do with the wonder of them. (The mouth area is cut out from the card.) Mailed in 2011, with address label taped on. Grade: 3
-
Suffolk Heritage Coast (England)
Multiview card mailed in 2011 with stamp and postmark, and blue bilingual airmail sticker affixed, showing scenes in Southwold, the Tide Mill in Woodbridge, the Moot Hall in Aldeburgh, Dunwich, and lighthouses of the area. Orange postal barcoding. Grade: 2

There is clearly much more to this card than just calling it “lighthouse” but the extensive captions are all in Polish. Mailed, two stamps, clear postmark … very nice card. Grade: 1

Unused Columbia View card 8812A831. Grade: 1
-
Old Point Loma Lighthouse (California)
Five of these unused cards ICS-105853 are available, stating that the lighthouse was built in 1854 until replaced in 1891 by another one “closer to the ocean.” Two cards are Grade: 1 ($4) and three are slightly more aged, so Grade: 2 ($3).
-
Greetings from Nova Scotia
This card we think sets a record for fitting into the greatest number of different categories on this website: Canada, fishing, greetings, lighthouse, and boat. But that’s mostly for our amusement, not yours. It was mailed in 1959. The postmark is there, but the stamp is gone. This pushes the grade down to Grade: 4
-
Cape Mears Lighthouse, Oregon (USA)
We can only call this a wonderful “local” view of a decommissioned facility. Unused Columbia View card 50268. Grade: 2
-
Freeport / Grand Bahama Island (Bahamas)
These map postcards often compel us to place a card in multiple theme categories, and this one is no exception. Unused, it’s more a map of Grand Bahama than just of Freeport but it’s also just the type of card we would like if someone mailed it to us. We went to Nassau once. For four hours. Grade: 1
-
Fort Casey Lighthouse, Washington (USA)
Unused Columbia View card 51326. Grade: 2
