You need to know the history–as we did, so we went to Wiktionary, which told us that a “scissorbill” was “an Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) and railroad term for someone who refused to join the union or who openly colluded with management to thwart the union,” much like what are called “scabs” today. Unusual, unused old card published by Floyd L. Kelly of Illinois. Grade: 2

We are grateful to Wikipedia for this more contemporary description: “Haddon Hall is an English country house on the River Wye at Bakewell, Derbyshire, one of the seats of the Duke of Rutland.” This may or may not have been the case when this old, unused card was published under sponsorship of Midland Railway of England. Taiwan Houtong Cat
This card is pure metal and it is heavy! We are amazed that it could be mailed like this at all — the edges are sharp — but it did get through and is an authentic “Images of Taiwan” postcard. In the shape of a train engine, with “I (heart) Taiwan” printed on the back, NT$25 stamp and postmark. We love this. You will, too. Grade: 1
