Condé-en-Brie (Aisne), l’Eglise (France)
The most wonderful thing we recall about Condé-en-Brie is that the Marquise de Sade had a family chateau here. As for the postcard, in 1917 someone wrote a message in French to his lady friend, completely covering the reverse, so the card was not postally used. Hope she got it — someone did, because the card survived. Grade: 4

Card mailed in 1997, with Perak stamp and partly legible postmark. Grade: 2
-
Church (Iowa)
This turn-of-20th-century real photo card went through a fire, judging from smoke damage to reverse. Based on its history, we think it’s a Lutheran church in either Iowa or Norway. Do you know? No damage to photo on front. Grade: 4
