The Roosevelt, The Colonial Room (New York City)
The hotel opened in 1924, so the unused B&W card must post-date that–and it’s still going strong, named after President Theodore Roosevelt. Did you know this was (according to the postcard) a Hilton Hotel? Grade: 1
-

Two of these unused Mike Roberts cards SC244 are available. The restaurant is still there but now seems to be named the Ideal Bar & Grill. Grades: 1

-
The Edgewater Hotel, Rigadoon Room, Madison (Wisconsin, USA)
Being curious, we went to the search engines to see the current status of the hotel. It seems to have gone into liquidation and is closed for redevelopment until 2014. Some of its final online reviews were terrible, and the postcard is not so good, either: not postally used, but with a pencilled message on the back. Grade: 4

-
Interior of a Chinese Restaurant (California)
Oddly, the card doesn’t say specifically which restaurant, or where; but the card was made in San Francisco, and mailed from Sacramento, so … Undivided back, stamp, and a postmark with date but no year. Grade: 4
-

There’s an excellent chance this restaurant is in Paris, but we won’t know because the unused card itself is not captioned in English, and comes from China. There’s quite a bit of Chinese printed on the reverse, so maybe the answer is there. Grade: 1
