White hearts
This large card (4-1/4″ x 8-7/8″) was mailed from the Czech Republic with a distinctive meter label. There’s a Prioritaire label too. Some postal battering around the edges. Grade: 3
-
With My Love to My Love (USA)
Mailed in 1911 (stamp and postmark are there) from what looks like a sister to her brother. We must downgrade the card because that small gray strip near the upper right corner is added paper stuck on. Grade: 4
-
Do you mean business Young man or are you only kidding
Mailed in 1909, stamp and postmark there, from an uncle to his nephew. The reverse in particular is heavily aged. Grade: 3
-
Romantic Sunset (Barbados)
Unused. Grade: 1
-
I am crazy for the love of you
The world wasn’t always as politically correct as it is now (or will be in the future). This card was mailed in the USA in 1911, from Grover to Janice, who might have wondered what Grover’s true message was. Grade: 1
-
Bulgaria – Unforgettable love
Somehow the unused card makes it look like he had two choices and almost reluctantly had to choose one. Grade: 1
-
with (heart) from Corfu (Greece)
When they’re happy, we’re happy. Unused card. Grade: 1
-
Kazan (Russia) (set of 18) – Family Center (not postcards)
You can unfold the cover, remove the cards, see the fronts, and it is only when you turn them over that you see the reverses are fully printed (in Russian) with details of what they show. So, yes, they are unused; and no, you could not mail them as postcards in the usual way. But they are the right size and shape, and deserve listing here anyway. This set also marks the most different theme categories for any one entry, so there’s that. Inside, a card of Family Center “Kazan”, and you might want to do your own online search to learn why we include this under “Romance”. Grade: 1
-
Brookdale, Brookdale Lodge – Wedding Chapel (California)
This card was mailed in either 1956 or 1958 — can’t quite make out the postmark — but the 2-cent stamp is there, the message is long and personal, and the card is in good condition. We’re not so sure about the chapel itself, though, as Google wasn’t much help. What with all those fires in California … Grade: 1

The Colour of Love (set of 30)
This is a Dream Postcard set of 30 unused cards, unopened in its original Cellowrap. Our scan shows you the reverse of the cardboard cover, so you can get the sense of each card: as far as we can tell, the expression of “I love you” appears in the language of a country using that language, with flag or national symbol. We’re tempted to say this set is perfect for someone like an airline pilot who has a girl in every port … but we’re neither sexist nor old-fashioned, so we’ll say nothing. Grade: 1
-
Golf – The Finish
This unused Valentine & Sons’ card qualifies as much for “Romance” as it does for “Golf” so we’ll list it both ways though neither of them look terribly interested in either one. Grade: 1
-
Do you still love me? (USA)
That’s the card’s caption, not ours. Mailed in 1984, with 28-cent Olympics stamp and postmark. Grade: 1
