-
Cerro Lopez (Argentina)
Here’s a contemporary description of Cerro Lopez now, lifted from an online source: “Cerro Lopez is Bariloche’s most famous alpine peak, visible from town, access is easy via public transportation, a good trail leads to a mountain hut at the base of the climb, and a climber’s trail continues to the summit ridge which offers fantastic views in all directions. Although it is a very touristic peak, a trip to Cerro Lopez is deservedly one of Bariloche’s classic mountain experiences.” The card is much older, with stamp and postmark and a wonderful address yet the card was delivered anyway. Grade: 1

Flagstaff, San Francisco Peaks (Arizona, USA)
From a series of unused Dexter Press “Giant Post Card”, measuring 6″ x 9″, this one #46282. They all have rounded corners. The caption describes this scene as “Home of the Arizona Snow Bowl,, one of the nation’s finest ski areas”. Grade: 1
-
Nagano, T Hotel Nagano Ryuoo (set of 4) (Japan)
These four unused cards from T Hotel Nagano Ryuoo come in a set, and all four appear in our scan. Golf, clouds, snow monkeys, ski … but nothing of the hotel itself. In any case, twin QR Codes on the reverses will no doubt fill you in. Grade: 1
-
Lake Placid, Whiteface Mt. Ski Center (New York, USA)
What makes this unused Dexter Press card 57714-D a “1980 Olympic Postcard” is the logo on the front, but the caption explains that this is more of an ordinary day on the slopes. Serrated edges, slight browning. Grade: 1
