Bird’s Nest Stadium, Beijing 2008 Olympics (set)
A set of two unused cards from 2007, in China Post’s original packaging. Both cards have pre-printed postage on the reverse, and serial numbers denoting that they were to be entries in a lottery. In addition, the red card in the set has a large round (and red) printed seal in the message area, saying “Best wishes from the on-site opening ceremony” in Chinese and English (see 35200108B). Very nice addition to your collection of Olympics postcards. Grade: 1

Unusual card with a photo taken on 20th March 2004, the night before the stadium was imploded. Card mailed in 2013 with a round “Global Forever” stamp and blurred postmark. Grade: 1

Only $1 per stadium, not bad. These four (in Warsaw, Wroclaw, Gdansk, and Poznan) are all identified in Polish and English in the caption. Card mailed in 2013, with stamp, bilingual Priorytet label, and postmark. Grade: 1

Baltimore, Camden Yards (Maryland, USA)
As stadium postcards go, not bad because it has two-for-one: Orioles’ Major League Baseball Stadium in the foreground, and the Ravens’ National Football League Stadium behind. Card mailed in 2013 with uncancelled Global Forever stamp but there is USPS barcoding to show it went through the system. Grade: 3

Like previous entries, a set of ten unused cards. The photo shows the cover and three of the cards, which include Beijing South Railway Station, Beijing 798 Art Zone, National Centre for the Performing Arts, National Stadium, The Capital International Airport Terminal 3, and other contemporary features. Grade: 1

Boston, Fenway Park (Massachusetts, USA)
As the card’s caption proudly states, “the oldest sports venue used by a professional sports team in the United States.” We were lucky enough to attend a Red Sox baseball game there once, and while the Sox didn’t win, we felt like we did. Mailed in 2013 with round “Global Forever” stamp and postmark. Minor postal abrasion, nothing serious. Grade: 2

There being no shortage of postcards of the Colosseum, we can only hope this is the one you want, particularly as it was mailed from Netherlands (not Italy!) in 2013 with stamp and postmark. Grade: 3

The card was mailed in 2013. The Luftpost label and stamp are there, but no postmark, so for that reason we must assign Grade: 4

Victoria Ground, Stoke-on-Trent (England)
Although the picture may look old, the card isn’t. It’s “No. 12 in a series of paintings featuring Towns and Cities with their famous football grounds.” Mailed in 2013 with two stamps, blue Royal Mail airmail sticker, faint postmark, and orange postal barcoding. Some postal bumping on the corners. Grade: 2

Astrodome, Houston (Texas, USA)
If you’re collecting Astrodome postcards and you don’t have this one yet, look closely: it’s all about President L.B. Johnson attending Opening Day on 9th April 1965. The card was mailed much later than that, in 2014, with a round “Global Forever” stamp. Grade: 1

Mailed in 2014 with stamp and full Rotterdam postmark. Grade: 1

Beijing, National Indoor Stadium
Issued by PRC’s State Postal Bureau with a pre-printed 2008 Olympics stamp, the card was mailed in 2014 with an extra stamp (of the stadium) and two full postmarks. All in all, then, a good example of a stadium postcard. Grade: 1

Pyongyang 2000 (set of 12) (DPR Korea)
This is more of a group of 12 and less an integrated set, because eight of the cards are numbered in sequence while the remaining four look a little different on the back. But it is as we received it from the official distributor. Anyway, all of the unused cards have pre-printed postage and are captioned in Korean only. The scan shows the paper cover (lower right) and three of the 12 cards, one of which (lower left) shows May Day Stadium. Grade: 1
