Sunset on the beaches of Malaysia
This is one of the first Malaysian cards we ever sent. Those beaches yielded up some very interesting and memorable experiences. Excuse the diversion into nostalgia; we will go back to reality now. This card was sent in 1977, with two different stamps and partly readable postmark. Grade: 1

Sapra card 4101c from 1967 doesn’t say it’s a Kenyan scene but we guarantee it is–right from our back yard at the time! Unused, undamaged but for slight aging. Grade: 1

Florida Sunrise
Unused Tichnor linen card 63033 (128), unremarkable apart from the wonderful caption on the reverse: “What wonderskies of Florida smile — What beauties do they not behold, Of earth and sea combined to make A Paradise of Joys untold.” Indeed. Grade: 1

Unused Curteich-Chicago”C.T. Art-Colortone” linen card 3A-H1637 (50LC). Grade: 1

Lake Portman sunset, Anderson (South Carolina)
Unused “local” linen card E-4291 (A-20) of Lake Portman on the Seneca River. One could imagine the mythical Australian outdoorsman Bronc Morret making his way through there. The date “Sep. 16, 1952” is rubber-stamped on the reverse. Grade: 3

Manitoba sunset (Canada)
A special card with pre-printed postage “For posting in Canada and delivery worldwide.” And so that was done, in 2011, with full postmark and blue bilingual airmail sticker affixed. Grade: 2

Mailed in 2012, this Mt. Fuji postcard has two stamps, mostly readable postmark, and blue trilingual Par Avion/address label affixed. Grade: 3

Loron Monu, sunset (Timor-Leste)
Two of these are available, sourced from Dili’s Central Post Office. US$1 stamps (the currency of Timor-Leste) had already been placed by the post office staff, so we count these as a legitimate part of the cards. There is a tourism embossment on the front of the card. Unused. Grades: 1

Mailed in 2012 with two stamps, partly legible postmark, and address label affixed. We know it’s sunrise because the caption says so. Grade: 4

Google translates the reverse caption for us as: Relict pine on Sokolica (which we know to be the nearby mountain). This card was mailed in 2012 with bilingual Priorytet label, two stamps, and full postmark. Grade: 2

Wisconsin Dells, The Sunrise Call (USA)
This unused card 3TT 30/39 of the Stand Rock Indian Ceremonial came from the H.H. Bennett Studio and was printed in “W. Germany” using the Foilex technique. The reverse says it’s “suitable for framing” and the impression it gives is one you might imagine if a card had been printed on aluminium foil. Grade: 1

We miss Pan Am. It was one of those brands that suggested stability, permanence, and reliability. Their postcards live on. This one, unused, still looks nice. Grade: 2

Sunrise
We generally resist listing self-printed cards, but this one is done so professionally and is so unusual that we make an exception. The creator is from PR China and the card was mailed from there in 2012 with two large (and beautiful) Chinese stamps and full, red postmark along with air mail and another chop. Grade: 1
