ATM trasporta Milano da 75 anni (Italy)
Coming to us just after a visit to San Francisco, where we had the chance to see that city’s transport museum and also the variety of trams on the street (including these), we appreciate this Italian card even more, but we need to explain the reverse. It has four stamps and two large and full special postmarks: Brescia Centro, Mille Miglia “La Corsa Piu” Bella del Mondo (at least we assume these are special), and there’s also orange postal bar coding. Minor postmark ink transfer on the front. All in all, we give this Grade: 2
-
Palm Springs, Aerial Tramway (California)
Unused Ferris Scott card with impressive index numbers S-55427L2-12 and FS-961. Some staining on the reverse. Grade: 3

We’re putting this card of this vehicle in this category also, just in case. Card mailed in 2012, with stamp, postmark, and airmail sticker. Grade: 1
-
Turku, TKL 39 (Finland)
The card is contemporary but the caption is all in Finnish, and we’re not certain if the photo or the tram itself dates from 1951 or 1968, or what. Either way, it’s a beautiful clear picture on the card mailed in 2012 with Aurora borealis stamp, Priority label, and illegible postmark. Grade: 1
-
Trolley car
This internet card doesn’t identify the location, but with good eyes (or a magnifying glass) you can see it is from a Slavic country due to the trolley’s destination panel. Card was mailed from Ukraine in 2012 with stamp, postmark, and Par Avion chop. Grade: 1
-
Lisbon, multiple trams
Mailed in 2012, with stamp, postmark, and blue Aviao/Priority label. Grade: 1
-
Tram – First day of issue, and later (Hungary)
This very nice card seems to celebrate 100 years of tram service (1911-2011) and has a tram stamp and special May 2011 postmark. But the card was mailed in 2012, with another stamp (not cancelled), and blue Elsobbsegi/Prioritaire label. Anyway, great for collectors of tram postcards. Grade: 1

An old photo on a contemporary card, mailed in 2012 with one stamp and faint postmark. Grade: 1

-
Amsterdam, City tram, after the rain
It seems the rain is not only in the photo, it might have affected the written message on the reverse as well. That kind of pen shouldn’t be used for poscards. Mailed in 2012, with three or four stamps (hard to say) and a Priority label. Grade: 3
-
Turku tram TKL 47 (Finland)
Though the photo (and the card) look fresh and new, the writer of this postcard–mailed in 2012 with stamp, postmark, and Priority label–explains that these trams of Turku are now all gone. Grade: 1
-
Baden-Baden – Blick v. Bahnhof nach der Weststadt (Germany)
Mailed in 1911, with stamp and postmarks from sending and receiving locations. Grade: 3
-
Welcome to Hong Kong (set)
This is a set of five unused cards creatively sealed in what looks like a foil retort pouch (the type you can buy peanuts in). It can’t be opened without destroying the packaging so we haven’t done that, but we could guess that some or all of the cards look like the photo in the scan. No guarantee! Various stickers on the back of the foil don’t affect the postcards. What you see here is the Peak Tram going from Central District to Victoria Peak. Grade: 1
-
Melbourne’s Trams (Australia)
Mailed in 2012 with an (uncancelled) stamp and red chop mark. Grade: 4
-
Kosice, Nadrazi

-

Nice old city view on this card mailed to Warsaw in the early 1900s with two stamps and two postmarks. Grade: 1
-
Hong Kong Disneyland, Set C (3 cards)
You may compare these with sets A (item 36600017) and B (36600018). These are sets of three unused cards in their original, unopened Cellophane wrap; but each card is wrapped individually and connected by the blue part at the top so they can all be seen clearly. The three cards show Mickey and Minnie and others near a tram (pictured); near the Clock Tower at the Kowloon Star Ferry, with Hong Kong Island in the background; and in a composite night view. Grade: 1
-
Fiesta Plaza, San Antonio (Texas)
If you live in San Antonio, you are more up on this than we are. Our modest effort at research through Wikipedia became murky. The H.S. Crocker card is unused and undated. Wikipedia says that Bill Miller, of Bill Miller Bar-B-Q, bought Fiesta Plaza (“a failed mall”) in 1992 and planned to donate it to the University of Texas, so now it is the Downtown Campus of UTSA. But the card seems newer than this (we’re not sure!) and there’s no mention of a University. Anyway … Grade: 1
-
San Francisco’s Chinatown
Unused Dexter Press card 52892-B with a view of Grant Avenue, and a cable car, and a Taiwanese flag that’s probably not there right now–but we’ve not looked, lately. Grade: 1
-
The Peak, I (heart) You – The Peak Tram (Hong Kong)
This unused 5-1/8″ x 6-5/8″ card issued by Peak Tramways Company literally required us to go to Victoria Peak, spend money on other things we didn’t want, so we could then get these. If you’d like to know the full story, we made a Blog entry about it. Two cards are available. Grades: 1
-
Toronto 9213 in Massachusetts
Instead of agonising over which categories might be right for this unused card, we are restricting it to this one (Trams and trolleys) only. It’s worth repeating the caption: “Western Flyer trolley coach built for the Toronto Transit Commission and loaned to the MBTA for test and evaluation in Boston service, is shown in East Watertown, Mass., July 14, 1971.” Grade: 1
-
Dresden Tramways 22-85-4 (Germany)
Mailed in 2013 with stamp, postmark, and trilingual Priority label. Just a little postal creasing on one corner. The English and German captions on the back give different dates. Grade: 2
-
Elmshorn Industriemuseum (Germany)
All printed captioning on this card is in German, and some of that obscured by the Priority label (and there are two stamps, and postmark), but we see this is probably an exhibit of toys or models? Mailed in 2013. Grade: 2
-
Cairoli, La “ventotto” 1951 (Italy)
Photo may be from 2006 but the card was mailed in 2013 with two stamps, partial postmark, and orange postal barcoding on the reverse. Some postal abrasions. Grade: 3
-
Melbourne tram (Maximum Card) (Australia)
The “Maximum Card Gremlins” struck again on this card, with four postmarks on the front–three from Australia and one from Hong Kong. Like similar cards issued by Australia Post, this has pre-paid postage on the reverse, good for worldwide delivery; this was not cancelled, but there is orange postal barcoding on the back. We like to avoid this phrase, but “it is what it is.” Grade: 4
-
Visit Bratislava, Slovak National Theather (sic) and tram (Slovakia)
Mailed in 2014, with two stamps and indistinct postmark, along with the 1.Classe label. Grade: 1
