Mt Chilbo and Ullim Falls (semi-maximum cards) (set of two) (DPR Korea)
We call these “semi-maximum” because the stamps on the respective fronts of these 2017 postcards are large and frankly beautiful, but they are uncancelled. Captioned in Korean and English on the reverses, and no additional postage printed there. Grades: 1
-
Rugova Valley (Kosovo)
Unused. Grade: 1
-
Përshëndetje nga Kosova – Mirusha Waterfall (Kosovo)
We sometimes observe that one postcard fits many of our theme categories. This is one of those. Bilingual Albanian/English captions identify Kosovo National Park “Sharr Mountains”, Brezna Lake close Koritnik Mountain; Marble Cave (Lipjan); Mirusha Waterfall (Llapusha); Badovc Lake (Prishtina); National Park “Accursed Mountains”; Kucishta Lake; and a Sharr dog in the center. That should keep the search engines busy. Unused. Grade: 1
-
Pelagus Rapids and Lambir Hills National Park (Sarawak, East Malaysia)
Pelagus Rapids in Kapit, and the waterfall at Lambir Hills National Park in Miri, on this unused, slightly aging 5″ x 7″ card. Grade: 1
-
Sarajevo (Bosnia), multiple views
Unused card. Grade: 1
-
Bosnia & Herzegovina (set of 12)
We assume this is a set of 12 long (4-1/8″ x 9-1/8″) cards because our scan shows the back cover and 12 photos. But the set is unopened and still in its original cellowrap, as we received it from the Mostar post office. Actually the cards themselves are probably 6-1/4″ long, with attached stubs. And there’s a waterfall in there. In any case, Grade: 1
-

-
Shifen Waterfall, New Taipei (Taiwan)
Extending from entry 20325394 through 398, we have an unused set of five (generally) railroad-themed cards, of which the fourth — the one without a train — is shown here. Only because they are put together as a set, we will sell them individually at $3 each, or have the set of five for $10. Grade: 1
-
Neuhausen, Rheinfall (Switzerland)
The best word we can think of for this Swiss postcard is “majestic”. Larger in size and expansive in style, it was mailed in 2020 with two stamps and postmark. Grade: 1
-
Niagara Falls, Ontario (Canada)
Whether from the American or the Canadian side, Niagara Falls postcards are not in short supply. Someone could put together quite a collection of views from all perspectives. This is an unused Plastichrome card P11251, showing American Falls with Horseshoe Falls in the background. We would like to know what the element is that sticks up from the lower left. Grade: 1
-
Yosemite National Park, Vernal Fall (California)
Unused Curteichcolor card 9C-K2785, showing the Merced River’s 317′ drop. Grade: 1

-
Hickory Nut Gorge, Chimney Rock, Hickory Nut Falls (North Carolina, USA)
Unused, aging, linen-style Curteich-Chicago postcard 9A-H2477. Though there’s nothing particularly unusual about these Falls, we thought we would check the background and learned this from Wikipedia (condensed a bit): “Hickory Nut Falls flows on Fall Creek and is part of Chimney Rock Park, privately owned until May 2007, when North Carolina completed purchase of the park. Chimney Rock Park and Hickory Nut Gorge are being developed into a state park. Prior to 2007, the park and falls was owned by the Morse family. National attention came to the park and the falls when it was featured in the 1992 film The Last of the Mohicans. The park was heavily featured at the end, and the final fight scene was filmed at the brink of the falls.” That little bit of history for you. Grade: 1

-
Låtefoss (Norway)
Låtefoss is a waterfall located in Ullensvang Municipality. The 165-metre (541 ft) tall waterfall is special in that it consists of two separate streams flowing down from lake Lotevatnet, and as they fall, they join in the middle of the waterfall, just before going under Norwegian National Road 13 built in 1867–69, making for a spectacular (and wet) view as one drives over the old, stone, six-arched bridge. That’s the scene. As for the card, it was mailed a few years ago with stamp, indistinct postmark, Prioritaire label, and pasted address label. Grade: 4
-
Braunlage im Harz (Germany)
The card had been mailed, decades ago, but the stamp is gone. Grade: 4

Unused card. We think we have it right side up. Grade: 1

Transfăgărășan (Romania)
The Transfăgărășan or DN7C is a mountain road crossing the southern section of the Carpathian Mountains, the second-highest paved road in the country after the Transalpina. It starts near Bascov, and stretches 90 kilometres (56 mi) to the crossroad between the DN1 and Sibiu, between the highest peaks in the country, Moldoveanu and Negoiu. The road was built in the early 1970s as a strategic military route and connects the historic regions of Transylvania and Wallachia. The Romanian caption on this unused postcard also mentions the Capra waterfall, and a cabana. Grade: 1
-

The longest drop is 50 feet.” Grade: 2
